It is mildly mission-critical. Meaning, yes, it is important for me not to lose traffic on this site.

Should I go with shared, VPS or dedicated?

Also, please do recommend some specific providers - but only if speaking from experience. If you give good advice, I will even sign up under your aff link. If you're afraid of posting a specific webhost in the thread because of the anti-spamming culture here, feel free to PM me.

Go with VPS to start with but if you can afford it go with a dedi from a reliable host. What is your budget by the way?

You might want to try hosting your site on Amazon EC2. You need to be a little bit more technically inclined, because you're responsible for setting up your own web server etc, but the scalability options are excellent. Also, you only pay for exactly what you use, so if you have some busy days and some slower days, your rates are not just a blanket fee...

Yea, lots of ballers are on that. Would be nice to see how the monthly charges work out. I mean some examples of that math.

Mate i am giving you the best hosting idea... that is a DATA center hetzner dot com... buy a VPS that will fullfill your requirement use Direct on that that is very simple and soft to use else hetzner is a data center from 1995 and its cool loading time is cool ALL stuff rather that a VPS from a company... and the cost is $25 apx./m for 2gb and ulimited BW...
and their response is awsome ... but you have to mange ur VPS... else a BLOG from my country that is famous all over the world.... having traffic of 100,00000 and that guy is using mediatemple dedicated but that costs much...
