So here I am, working at Taco Bell, brainstorming some ideas about taking restaurant surveys for the general manager's weekly quota for cash, and thinking about what other options there are...

This is the only entrepreneur forum I go to, you guys shouldn't mind sharing a few ideas about how I can hustle my local town for money. Like power-washing businesses, selling bottled waters at a busy corner, just whatever.

I'm making $7.25 an hour, help a bro out :1bluewinky: , I need weed money lol.
My town population is 15,000. Oklahoma, casinos, college town, if any details help.

Thanks buds!

Get a Square card reader and start slinging diet pills to fat women on the street. Show before and after photos of your "mom" on your phone.

Yikes man. I know we all have to start somewhere, selling bottled waters on a crowded corner? You got a long journey ahead of you. God Speed.

When I was a youth, the hungry young capitalists were selling weed.

Find businesses that are offering services which can be confusing for those who don't understand how they work, this works especially well for SE0 businesses, and make videos (you can use a free service like Animoto) explaining how they work and benefit the person/business.

You can have a pretty high success rate if you place the name of the business that you are trying to sell to at the end of the video (with a call-to-action) because it will make them feel as though they own it, and can immediately use it.

Sell websites. It's not very easy to get clients at the start (especially if you're young) but I've had a few sales for £250-500 ($400 - $800).

Just:
- Get them to sign a contract to pay monthly hosting/ domain costs (You can get a few extra $$ here). Get them to hand over the money for the website before starting (Lots of people pull out in the middle of development - save yourself the hassle).
- Buy the chosen domain name under your name if possible - Cost $10
- Buy a wordpress theme off themeforest (State to them you will be greatly editing pre-made designs to cover your back. Include that fact in the contract) - Cost $30-$50
- Upload the theme, edit it (Will need to know some basic CSS/ HTML)
- Write content for Home, Products, About and Contact Page (Most companies don't need more than that)
- Install Cache plugins/ Optimise images.
- Upsell SEO

$$$

So a reasonable sale in my eyes would be:
Website: $700 (Your cost= 10 hours = $70 for you)
Monthly Hosting/ Domain: $20 (Your cost= $6 monthly)
SEO: $200 ++ Monthly (Your costs=5+ hours monthly + some BST (I never said GOOD seo!)= $50-$100)

Possible profit from 1 customer in 1 year= $630 + $170 + $1200 = $2000

Ok so you won't be able to sell all your clients everything but I'm sure you see what I'm saying. What's better is that once you have this mastered you can throw up your own Wordpress sites in a few hours and make them look however you want them to look. Improving your skills and all that.

Offer SEO or Marketing plans for brick and mortar businesses in your area.

Yes, recommend another faggot to venture out into the world and further dirty the seo/digital marketing name by pitching services to companies he can't deliver jack shit on.

That's a great model to follow if you're not looking for something scalable, and want to spend your entire life doing a job under the guise of being self employed.

With this model you end up with 10 clients, unable to take anymore on because you have too much work / random content modification / etc requests from them + only $20k/year in revenue to live off.

Not to mention that part of the industry is entirely saturated. It's good for a bit of spare change but it's not something I'd recommend anyone did now. You're better off with a 9-5 doing $7 an hour.

He also doesn't mention whether he has any tech skills or not.

You need to think about your skills and how they could solve other people's problems. Walk around your city and you'll see plenty of problems you could solve locally and make a few bucks doing - just try to come up with something that'll scale.

Hmm I find that the majority of small business owners don't need anything done regularly. From most of my clients I only got contacted once every few months to do a simple edit (Hell if that's too much - bill them).

This method IS just for extra change, it's not a long term model. It's a fairly easy way to make a quick buck and hell, if it brings a bit of cash for other projects, why not? Definitely not saturated where I am, obviously greatly depends on where you live.

Also OP, for more temporary cash - Write content. You can do it in your spare time and earn a bit if you're a native english speaker. Also not scalable but should help pay bills/ pay towards projects for now.
