How do you manage multiple forums?

For those who own more than one forum, how can you successfully manage more than one forum (i.e. advertising, promoting and moderating).

Either pay someone else or do a lot of fucking work, really. I have two active forums right now, I've basically abandoned them, I just don't have the time anymore.

I've never been able to do it, but a lot of forums get popular enough that people will volunteer to do most things for you. It has to be relatively big, but this is the cheapest solution, free

That or what Andrew said, just pay people. There's so much cheap labor out there right now. I think we all need to start taking advantage of it.

I just get moderators to do all the cleanup work for me, which leaves me with all the fun stuff. Either way, running a forum does take more time than a regular website... and it's really difficult to take vacations, because generally if members on the forum need something critical done, they need it now or they get pissed. I sold mine anyway.

I have been hiring people to do some jobs for me but found that they have not been quite doing the job that they were paid for.
I have not had any luck with cheap labor from India. They take your money and hardly do any work (at least the ones that I dealt with) and you have to chase them down if they don't block you outright from their instant messengers.
