Trafficvance gets its traffic through people downloading software from gamevance right? so before i joined trafficvance i wanted to see how it works in action but I can never see any of these ads with the software downloaded. I browse websites I do all the stuff you would think would trigger an ad but nothing.

I never messed with ppv much or seen a popup in months so im interested in how this shit works and how my landing page would look seeing how they cut down the size. So am i missing something? I've messed around with direct cpv and notice they got stuff like url targeting and keyword targeting so im guessing trafficvance does to, but this software isn't fireing off any ads.

Im assuming people who are infected type in facebook.com for example and a pop up would come up because someone is bidding on that url correct? Or is all this shit just random? Does it gather information about what you do then send you relevant ads?

Or fuck it is there a tool that will show you what your website will look like after its been cut down to certain browser size? I know their are pre built ppv templates all over the place but it still doesn't make me feel any better putting my site up and paying for views when I don't even know what the final product looks like to everyone else if that makes any sense.

Often it also depends on your country, as every PPV network has geo-targeting options (that means if a campaign is only targeting US, obviously only people from the US will see a pop-up when going to facebook.com, not those from any other country).

If you are in the US though (which should be used as one of the target countries a lot of times), then I have no idea.

Btw. I doubt you will trigger a pop-up by going to facebook.com, but then again I'm just a small fish and can't afford to bid on broad stuff like that, so I'm not 100% sure on that :)

For some reason FIrefox blocks all popups on my PC that has all the adware on it. Surf in IE for awhile

Huh? Every network proudly states in their FAQ that their pop-ups won't be affected by pop-up blockers, yet some simple firefox blocker prevents them from showing?
In this case...do they still charge you for the (not really occured) view?

funny that you mention that, i downloaded some flash game shit from gamevance once trying to spy on what others were doing and i didn't see any ads appearing too, tried with IE6 and firefox...but the .exe was running in the background so i guess it's must be some kind of a bug.

I believe that TV pops open in IE, even if you're browsing in FF. I think that's the case since my referrers are 100% IE browsers... unless it doesn't work with FF at all.

someone said earlier that gamevance doesn't start showing ads right after you install it. This is to prevent users from thinking that the gamevance software is causing the popups..Give it a while and you should see popups ;)

It works for both IE and firefox.

Wait a month after software installation, it'll pop till your eyes hurt.

thats what i was thinking. makes sense that they wouldn't want to blast you with ads after you download their software.

Yep, when I installed one of GameVance's games on a virtual server it took about 48 hours before ads began to show - even then it was only a few popups a day.

I suggest you wait two days, then begin browsing sites that are likely to have popups - Quantcast
Start at about Rank 300 onwards - keep in mind just because someone is bidding on that target it won't show their ad every time, just be patient.

Be careful of TV jacking your campaigns. If something is profiting, run it for a week, pause for a week, run it again but unpredictably. They will check your shit out if they see constant spend.

lol vogel lol

That's anywhere, now-a-days. Learn to swim with the sharks or get out of the pool.

RE: "So you do no CA, UK or AU whatsoever? "

So, we do now have INT'L traffic, specifically in those countries you mention (CA, UK or AU - and NZ) but we *don't show CPV ad units* for INT'L - only CPC ad units (text link ads).
