How hard is it to get direct offers?

Hello all,

I'm working with a start-up CPA network and we're working hard to get set up with some direct offers from advertisers. I know the easiest way to go about things in the beginning is to be a reseller for other networks and just have a lower payout. However we're trying to use high paying offers as a "selling point" to get new affiliates.

So my questions are -- How difficult is it to go direct with offers? What are the best way(s) of going about it? Are there any specific requirements our network has to meet?

I'd assume advertisers aren't willing to just shell out all of their offers direct to any new network that pops up, which is why I'm coming to you guys for some advice.

Appreciate any and all input! Also if anyone here can get me connected with an advertiser or is an advertiser who would be willing to talk, let me know! :]

Oh no, what did I do wrong? :\

It's a genuine question. I'm sure contacting the advertisers is a great first step, but I don't want to dive into that without some knowledge behind me. I'm merely asking if there are any pre-requisites or things advertisers like more or less when a new network is coming to them.

I apologize if this is a very silly and dumb question -- I'm part of a bigger team who is much more knowledgeable than I am but I am trying to learn on my own a bit.

that much bigger team feel that hasoffers was a suitable platform?

cuz u claimed in another thread that your network was hot shit and now your rep here is dead sorry try again

I did what? I made no such claim I'd love for you to find that post.

To get things started yes, they do. I've seen many affiliates say great things about HasOffers and we've had no problems thus far. I'm assuming you have a different opinion of it?

mmk...if your network is a network worth running with, you should know that your AM should be able to scale your payouts with some good conversions/quality traffic - I don't see how you are using this as a "selling point" to your network?

why dont you get some sales people on the phone and negotiate directly with the advertiser, YOUR platform and YOUR team should be able to SELL that advertiser as to why they want to run their CPA/CPS offer through YOUR network.

Im not knocking hasoffers, I am just letting you know that *I* personally do not think its a suitable solution for running the backend of an affiliate network - regardless of whether or not thats how they chose to market it.

at $99/mo ....i can haz network to!!!

...

attend an affiliate conference ya fucking dunce

what he said.

Thanks for some info. This is all I was asking for.

We have an AM who deals with the advertisers and gets our offers set up for us. I am basically a complete noob to the business of CPA Networks and am trying to gain my own knowledge instead of riding the coattails of everyone else. I apologize if asking a simple question seems outlandish to the people here. I assumed a forum based on Affiliate Advertising would be able to help.

Mistake #1. Alright, I get it now. As for the direct to the advertiser.. as I said earlier I understand that that is the way to go. I was merely asking if there are certain things advertisers look for when negotiating or thinking about bringing in a new network to advertise their offers. Again, I'm completely new to this and I have no trouble admitting it.. I'm just trying to do some things on my own to impress those that I work with and I thought asking around would be a great way to start learning - I guess not.

We run the Enterprise Edition I believe it costs around $800-$900/mo. I know my obvious lack of knowledge might look bad but the people I work with are experienced and know how to get offers - We've got almost 100 already. I just wanted to see if I could impress and do some stuff on my own.

I will search around and see if I can find any conferences. I was hoping maybe someone could provide that type of information in a non-chastising manner but I that doesn't seem to be the case.

But Kani -- Thanks for the bits of info. I will leave this thread at that because I'm sure I wont be getting any other bones tossed my way judging by the response thus far. Again I apologize for bringing such a "stupid" question to your board. I live with the idea that no question is stupid, although some of your more "mature" members don't seem to agree.

Cheers.
