So i was reading peaches post on how much do you earn from your sites and I must say i was REALLY impressed at everones responses.

Most of the people were making around a buck/day and yet they had this "i suck" attitude. I just wanna say to everyone here that are in this situation, you have no idea how well you are doing. Your earning a little bit of residual everyday and once you reach that point you've definitely made it past the hard part. So if i may i'd like to humbly tell you how i made it beyond that point.

First thing i did was buy a mid sized filing cabnet and some folders along with a couple notebook pads. Organization will play a huge roll in your future projects.

This will sound weird but it worked very well for me; In the middle of the night I used to go to this little shitty but well lit park in a town next to mine. Its pretty much the crappiest park in the entire county but its well lit and no one is ever there. Even the druggies go home around dusk. I guess it doesn't matter where you go as long as you're alone and it ISN'T where you will be doing all your actual work or where anyone you know will be able to find you.

I labeled my notebook "Ways to make $1/day online." Then i would sit there on the swing set with a six pack of beer and jot down as many ways as i could think of to make exactly $1/per day online. It didn't matter how much time a project would take me to complete or how much work would be involved as long as it made $1 each day. I also would completely avoid any ideas that sounded like my "million dollar" idea. Just strictly focus on that single buck. The creative juices just kind of flowed from there. I'd write down as much information about each idea as i could including what type of sponsors and how to promote and automate them. I wouldn't set any particular goal of how many dollar project ideas to come up with a night or reserve any amount of time to spend on it. I'd just hang out relax on the swingset and write.

Of course every night one of two cops would drop by to check the park for druggies and i just explained to them what i was doing and they were really cool about it and from that time on would just drop by and say hi real fast and leave every night. After you've written about 10 ideas it starts becoming very easy. After about your 20th one you'll start flying through them extremely fast. Since it was such a relaxing way to end my day and i started to really enjoy it i was shocked when i reached my 200th idea so soon. It really didn't take very long. At this point i was taking all my ideas home and putting them into their own seperate folder in the filing cabinet and labeling each one with a project name.

Then i just started working on them. One by one, I'd make little goals for myself like completing 3 folders/week. I wouldn't worry about checking the stats every hour or spending a month building each project. I just built them, i built every one just as fast as i could. Pretty soon i started running out of projects so i'd started going back to the park every couple nights and then spending the week completing what i wrote. Eventually I turned that into a schedule. I'd go to the park about once/week on a weekend then on mondays i'd rewrite all my notes into full word documents with more and more details on exactly how to accomplish each project. Then tues.-fri. i would complete the projects.

Now i'm in this beautiful scheduled routine where i even go back over each project after 6 months and revamp them so they make a bit more money. At first a huge percentage of the projects failed and would make less than the buck/day. After about a year of doing this that percentage started dropping dramatically and to my shock the new project ideas starting producing more than a buck and the old projects were maturing and making MUCH more than a dollar/day.

So i just want to say to all of you. You are doing great. Keep it up. Develop your own little system. If you figured out a way to make even .50/day than there is no reason why you can't find your muse and after a year produce 100 .50/day projects. That's $50/day! Think about it. Anyways, i realize this was long winded for a forum post but i hope it helps a few of you reach your goals because once you master those $1/day projects than theres nothing stopping you from the $100/day projects.

Great post. And it does make sense. When I found out my wife was pregnant it made me get off my ass and start working hard instead of just messing around. I'm nowhere near where I want to be, but I just got my first adsense check last month and right now Google owes me about $600 and CJ owes me about $250.

Sounds like a good way to get drunk at least!

:)

Nice brainstorming ideas... I think it is important. Perhaps not everyone do it in the way you mentioned, but just finding your own space to come up with ideas is very important.

Great post!

I must admit, I don't have a problem coming up with ideas. However, that's all I used to do, come up with ideas. I didn't action them. So, after hours reading WF I decided to get my finger out of my ass (it was well and truly stuck up there) and start doing something.

Now, 2 weeks later, I am earning around $5 a day. Not much, but it is $5 closer than I was 2 weeks ago.

And remember, to make a $million you first need to make $1. Then another, then another....

$10 million is the new $1 million

Let me start with the 'reasonable' goal of $1m, then I can go on to $10m!!

And remember, i'm in the UK so I am not a millionaire here until I earn nearly $2m!

WTF??? Who made that rule? Must suck for you...:angryfire:

A 6 pack and Jack....THAT'S where idea motivation is!

Actually, I have an overflow of ideas past and present filling up files and notebooks. If tomorrow I never had another idea I could be busy for a decade after I die! I am now trying to organize ideas and pick a few ideas to focus on. It hurts to put out the effort needed :)

Great post....great perspective.....thank you!

I get plenty of ideas, my problem has always been focus. I have been working on that for the past couple of months. It's been alot of improvement on my earnings since then.

Starting is always difficult, but keeping going could be worse. I have plenty of ideas, but I'm stuck figuring out how to realize them. A working method and focus are the basic tools to going forward.
I'd like to suggest a really inspirational article by Steve Pavlina. It's quite long, but very helpful.

Great post Deliguy. I'm curious though. When you started actually building your projects, did you spend much time driving traffic or did you just throw the sites open and wait for the search engines to pick them up?

Also, where does your main income come from? Is it predominantly adsense, or affiliates or something else?

Deliguy - nice read, and quite inspirational.

I like your "one dollar at a time" approach, but do I have to go to the damn park at 1am and sit on the swingset?

Great post, but I would recommend that you do not throw out your million dollar ideas.
Trust me, once you are earning $100 a day or more, you will start thinking about where to invest money. Thats where the bigger ideas come in. Its a lot easier to make a big idea work if you have capital.

Start small, get some income that you can live off, and then start working on big ideas. You will never be a millionaire from $1/day ideas, but they can get you a good foothold for future projects.

That post was nice.

I like the "go somewhere where you can be alone and think" part.
Fuck... I am living in a really beautiful country now, I'll go do that more often.

I think I even know a place. Off to the batcave.... :batman:

Cheers,
