How long on average would you say that you take to build and publish an AM website? Is it reasonable to shoot for 1 per month for a college student (assuming you have the idea mapped out ... how long do you spend on the site development itself)?

really depends on your goals. If I am really driving all my traffic to one LP, then I will use Wordpess + Caffienated content to create a website with about 50-60 pages of content for the spiders and then write a strong LP, with calls to actions that I add on either to sidebar or the bottom of each post in case a visitor gets curious and explores my sitemap.

That takes me a couple of hours to polish up. the longest time Is what i spend writting the LP copy - this can be a few days to get version 1.0, and then costant rewrites and a/b testing moving forward as we analyze stats.

I can knock out a full site in an hour or two if I stay focused. When I started I used to spend 3-4 days on a site... you'll get better with time. Create some standardized templates to use in your sites, that will free you to focus on the content. Dont spend time on design unless it's something that you enjoy doing.

my first one I spent months on but now it takes me a couple hours to have a site and landing page up, this includes custom wordpress blog and auto gen content.

yeah alot of us are in college. It honestly depends on how fast you figure out how to do it, what your aiming to do and how much you want to work. You could spend all your time on one site for months on end, perfecting it and growing it. You could throw up one site a day and see what works. It all depends on what you want to do and how much time you put into it

A couple of hours. There are so many free themes (wordpress) and free web templates out there that with small changes they will fit my needs the majority of the time.
