After reading the thread about the affiliate manager asking to put an extra tracking pixel on their page, i was wondering how much info do these affiliate companies get about each of your leads? I assume they get the IP, time/date and referring page, but how many pages back do they go? Do they know what search engine? How about what keywords?

There is a high possibility they know everything unless you cloak all this data from the networks. Cloaking doesn't just apply to visitors, it should go both ways.

IP, order amount (if applicable), referrer (whatever page sent the user directly to the offer), and maybe some random info on the user's screen resolution etc. On CJ, they strip out the query strings on referrers, and the advertisers cannot see that (in order to protect keywords of search affiliates). The only people at CJ who have access to query strings is the network quality/fraud department, and I've never seen them release that data to an advertiser. CPA networks, it's a whole other issue.

So how many pages deep do they see(anyone at the network)? It makes sense that they can only see the direct page its coming from (only 1 page deep) but do they have the technology to see deeper? Perhaps like where the people who came to your site came from? What search engine(if you use a landing page)?

do not trust any affil network. some have publicly told people they take data from affs, although i'm sure all of them do if you don't hide the info.

meta refresh to a 3rd party domain.

i have a landing page that has a link to the offers on it. am i protected? can they see where the hits come from that come to my landing page?
