It took me long hours for my online biz. How much time do you spend per day for your online business?

For about a year I was in this chair anywhere from 16 to 40 something hours straight with very few potty breaks.

Nowadays, it's about 4 to 5 hours unless I'm learning something new or working on a big project, then it can get back to those long hours from time to time.

As has been said before, you put the time in at the start until your fledglings can pretty much hold their own. Then you just check in on them now and again to be sure they are doing ok and heading in the right direction.

Remember, at least for me, the ultimate goal is "Passive Income". (What a deceptive sounding phrase that is. lol )

What pisses me off is that in my head "this this and that" can be done in 4 hours. But then, the smallest fucking thing causes "this " to end up taking 4 hours itself.

Seriously, its shit like...some thumnail isn't showing up properly. Plus if your working at 3 am, its hard to get help on a forum with 0 other current viewers.

I'm till newer though.

Yeah I hate that too. That is a symptom of working with computers in general IMO.

I think I go about 12 hours. If I'm gonna be honest though I would say 6-8 of those are really productive and then I start to really drag. Speaking of which, what are you guys doing to stay productive?

about 12-15 hours; but god damn i need a way to be more productive during that time.

In the beginning, it seemed like all my time after work went into my site and backlinking but after a few months things changed. I developed a system of doing backlinks and I found tools to automate as much as I could. Now I spend an hour each weekday doing backlinks and such. On Saturday I check my rankings, spend some time trying to learn more and modifying my overall plan. I take Sunday off and enjoy life.

A website is like a child, at first, you have to do everything for them, including wiping their butt, over time though, they learn how to use the toilet paper for themselves and require a lot less work.

I love how all these guys come in here and say "10-20 hours a day!" like its some sort of badge of honor. Guys the whole point is to work less and have more free time! If you're working 14 hours a day, how productive are you really? Are you really cranking out 14 solid hours of no bullshit work? Or are you really working for about 4 hours and fucking around on WickedFire and 4chan for 10 hours? I can't go for more than 3-4 hours before I have to take a break, clear my mind, etc ... I might come back afterwards and work an hour or two, but damn you guys are killing yourselves for no reason. I'm sure your productivity decreases exponentially after a few hours.

14 hours of half assed productivity or 4 hours of intense "getting shit done" activity?

I have one site, and I'm learning SEO on the side. Spend about an hour a day on it to add some content and get some links. About once a week I check my rankings for a list of keywords and keep a running spreadsheet of my rankings each week.
