How much to charge for PPC servise?

Hi,

I'm doing PPC for 3 years as a full time job. Someone asked me if I can promote his sites. He is doing only SEO and he doesn't understand PPC at all.

How much should I charge him?

He doesn’t want to work with networks, so what is the best way to do the tracking?

any others tip for first client?

5% is very low for the industry. The industry norm is 15% to 20%.

Think about it with an average small company that spends $1000 a month on GA. Would you do that for $50? What would you charge for the startup as most self setup accounts are a complete clusterfuck at first.

It will take you more time to fix this one than starting over. That is fine you want to use their data. And show how much better you are.

But bid for how messed up it will be.

I usually try to get the logins at this point so you can know how messed up it is and what you can do for them.

Typcically their CTR will be like .05%, they will have one ad and ad group, and their Cost per click will be high.
 
Charge him whatever you want.

Anyone dumb enough to hire someone who's been doing PPC full time for three years and doesn't know shit about tracking will believe whatever number you quote.
 
Depends on the size of the campaign.

Charge a flat fee to set it up then a percentage of spend ongoing.

I 'm using tracking for my own sites, but I always work with networks that I trust. I don't know what pixel we needs to use or what is process when you don’t work with network ....
Anyway, he also gave me an option to send traffic (that I’ll pay for) and he will pay me commission per sale, but again - how can I track the CR?
 
If you are going to pay 20% why not just setup an affiliate network? Last I checked rates at the high end were 15% and that's
without haggling at all.
 
Why don't you just take a percentage of the profits... say 20%? If you are doing PPC and acquiring customers, take a percentage of the profits you get from that customer. It will keep you on your toes (and motivated to do a good job).
 
Seriously, charging a customer a % of the amount spent is a pure nonsense imo.
Taking a % on the profits or a predefined cost per lead would sounds more like a win-win situation.
 
Most agencies run a monthly minimum + percentage of spend. Of course, there are CPA targets & if things aren't somewhere close to the target (within a certain %), then terms don't work the same.
