So i was wondering about this, when you create your Landing page, ads, ad copy, and content, who do you assume views it?

Do you cater to the dumbest of the nation, the idiots of america whos finances suck, are uneducated, lazy, etc..

or do you think that most of your visitors are somewhat intelligent beings and have reasons to question the legitimacy of you campaign?

Seems to me that it would completely depend on the audience and keywords.

If you're selling some garbage with wide appeal (like weight loss), then you can pitch to the lowest common denominator. Your product is BS, so you probably already know that smart, astute buyers will pass you by. No amount of swindling will make them buy something they know to be useless. So, by default, smart people tend to exclude themselves.

This changes if you are selling to a niche market or working at a "high-end" product. Customers in a particular niche - i.e.: selling gun polish to hunters, will be familiar with the ins and outs of their interest. Likewise selling cat anus bleach to cat enthusiasts. They probably know more about the subject than you, so they'll sniff out the BS quicker. If your customers are doctors, lawyers, or high income earners, then you might (just might) expect a bit more care and skepticism from them too.

Plus, you also have to factor in the keywords. If you're bidding on the keyword "buy xyz online," then the visitor is already wanting to buy. They aren't skeptical about the product - they already want it.

If the keyword is "xyz reviews" then they would be a little more skeptical and need some work.

If you bid on the keyword "xyz scam" then of course they would be the most skeptical of all.

Like the guy above, it all depends on your visitors. If you are targeting a welfare site with a PPV network, the types of people that visit that site are going to be very different than the types of people who visit the dupont registry, or some designer jewelry website.

Same thing goes with traffic source, if you are trying to show your ads on LinkedIn to someone who is very affluent and makes 1 mil. a year, he probably is not as stupid as the guy who is straight out of college and is an intern at facebook ;)
