How to get in touch with doctors?

^ a lot of it is these people are just programmed to say NO to anything and I don't honestly blame them they get CALLS all freaking day especially when they are a new biz for all sorts of crap. Think all the spam email you get but multiply that by 100 and half of it is calling you on your phone or walking in your door..

the receptionist deals with the bulk of this and as a paid employee they just want to keep their job, get their work done, and get that paycheck on friday. so new biz and opportunities don't tend to appeal to them hence the gate keeper mentality

You need to get some telemarketing skills, pick up any book on the subject. There are a number of little tricks that can work to get through. Its okay to be slightly duplicitous if trying to get past the gatekeeper. One is just sound like you know him. Don't pitch your service, just say, John Please, like your his buddy, impatient and super casual like. If they say who is this, say its blah blah, its about this weekend. You gotta do anything to get past the gatekeeper, there are tons of little tricks like this.

Give them a lead or 2. Make sure they know where it came from. if they convert, they will call you for more. I do this all the time.

I've got some solid leads for a few different plastic surgery procedures (boob jobs, nose jobs, lipo, etc) that I'm trying to find a surgeon in my area to buy. I know the procedures are expensive ($5,000+) so these leads have to be worth something, but I am having a hell of a time trying to get in touch with a doctor.

I've called about 40 doctors in my area that do these procedures, but I can't get through the receptionists to the doctor or an office manager, even if I'm offering free leads to them. Most tell me that they get lots of calls like this and its policy not to bother the doctor with them.

I'm running out of doctors to call in my area, so thought I'd see if anyone had other suggestions. I could try to book an appointment like a normal patient, but since they all offer free consultations I doubt they'd be very happy when I'm pitching them (since they're not making money off my visit). Any suggestions are really appreciated.

oh man i used to work in medical sales (media sales really, as it was a lead gen advertising co-op thing). its a tough arena - doctors are so busy. they may be interested in your product and are ready to buy, but they could forget about you the next day.

the best way to sell to a doctor or to reach them is to make it seem like that theyre missing out on a huge opportunity, that they are losing (potential) money because of theyre delay in buying your leads. they are smart, so they'll ask and theyll follow each lead sent to you so it better be very high quality stuff.

if its a larger office, theyll have an office manager. sell to them. the office manager basically runs everything and has a lot of weight when it comes to the docs final purchasing decision. some may even have make the final decision

be blunt, say/email everything in 3 sentences or less, and respect their line of work. present an opportunity.

EDIT: Yes, docs hate 'committing' to things that are not proven to work. if you could offer a 30 day refund on your leads for the first few months then there would be no reason why a doc would turn it down.

Join your local republican branch and network, network, network.

Initial contact is hard in medical business. If the US is anything like Australia, a doctor's office will have like 10 pharma salemen per week trying to sell to them, and while you may be bringing actual revenue its hard to filter you out from the others.

It may be worth sending a couple of customers to a doctor, and having them mention they were directed from your website. Then try to ambush the doctor after work and introduce yourself as the website owner, and how you can work together to make the monies. You may want to do some recon work to find a doctor that is ok with stuff like this, try finding out if they have been on any drug company sponsored holidays etc.

My dad is in medical sales. He plans events where it can cost $2,000 per plate on his companys dime to get all these doctors together. Once he knows them it's pretty easy to keep in contact because they know they're being taken care of but it can be a hassle to get a foot in the door even with the reputation of a mega company behind you.

I've bought leads from another company that emails me every time one comes in and lets me see it without the details before I buy the whole thing. I think it's pretty effective because I'm not paying up front for another garbage lead package and I get to see some real useful info before I buy.

I don't know if you're getting these through organic traffic or what, but if it's not a problem to give some away you might try calling and saying you'd like to refer an actual patient to them and see if you can put together an appointment. Maybe get on the phone with both of them? They pretty much have to hear your pitch after you've actually made them some money for free. Ask if you can add them to the e-mail alert thing and just put a checkout button next to where the phone number would be.

Most doctors are so busy and have so much business they do not really need to deal with another person who is gonna promise them new customers. That is part of the reason why you can't get them on the phone they have so many damn patients as it is.

I think dentists would work much better in this situation. Especially, in an area where there is a dental school because there are usually more dentists than average in that area and usually the competition is stiff and they are looking for an extra edge.

I have personally met a bunch of plastic surgeons for leads.

If u need help or my opinion u can PM me for a chat

Maybe try talking to local search companies who are already contracted to generate leads for small business owners, see if there is a way in that way. They'll understand the metrics way better than the actual doctor, and might be able to take a cut and pass the leads on, while not ideal still a way to break in the industry.

Or along the same lines (this doesn't really solve your problem but I think would help overall) find a doctor with paid search ads, and have a pitch custom to a doctor who is already out there comfortable spending money online.

Schedule an appointment pretending you need XYZ surgery.

When the doctor comes in, say "I really don't need shit, but I have some potential clients for you."

i hope you dont think this would work... They would throw you out in a heartbeat for wasting their time. I used to do something very similar to the approach bigb3433 has outlined... I'd be non intrusive and make them feel in control of approaching me...
