How to get started?

Hi,
I am curious and intrigued and highly motivated...what is the best way to go about learning and getting started in this area? I see many ebooks for sale etc... I am really a newbie but find this to be extremely interesting and would like to get something started. HELP what are the best resources?

And then finally when you're brain is above to explode from all the information, start DOING something. Make a site, whatever - just put your fingers to the keyboard and type.

And only then, come back here and ask some specific questions. This is the best advice you will ever get in your life - if you don't listen and do it it's your own fault.

Is this a normal thing? Asking me to click on our blog which is a porn video that freezes my computer. Great first introduction to Wickedfire.
 
Is this for real? What is wickedfire? My first attempt and every link is some shemale...do I give up? Just trying to learn and get this waste of time crap!
