Putting together some landers for our supplement product and am wondering if there's any use for a "tell a friend" script on them? You know, the kind of thing that lets them send the page to their friend's email letting them know about the product.

Useful or a waste of time?

Probably waste of time, unless there was some kind of incentive maybe? I know of a viral tell a friend script developed for info marketing that is based on giving the person some kind of freebie "Tell 3 Friends and Get A Free Report on How to Pluck Ducks" - something like that. PM me if you want it, I think I can dig it up

What are you retarded, "Tell A Friend" marketing is making a killing. I was pushing shit like this a while ago and now a lot of big players are using it. Unless you don't do any type of research on Facebook you would see shitloads of companies (especially clothing companies) implementing Tell A Friend marketing, even incorporating the items purchased and allowing friends to join your online shopping session and shop with you.

I would say be more creative if you are going to use it. If you want it to yield results and profits you'll need more then a tweet this button.

Could you get more out of context ?

Hint: tell a friend on a supplement lander - not shopping with the girls on a fashion site

One of my friends was doing this awhile back, last year actually, and he was doing at least 50-100 leads for about a week with one of those viral scripts and a photo unlocking website...so like one of the posters said above, could be killer if done right.

Didn't think my little question would spark such debate. Differing opinions keep things interesting though.

I'll just have to think up some creative offer and give it a try myself to really find out I guess.

Thanks for the feedback!

They can be useful if they are done right. Like Andrew said you have to incentivize it.

The best one on the market that I know of is:

Viralinviter - The Most Badass Traffic Software Out there.

Yes, I know that Mike Filsaime is on the video and I know how you guys feel about him, but that doesn't detract from the fact that the product is pretty awesome.

This is interesting. Anyone have a review on this? I'm not one to pay for software that I can program myself, but if they make it that easy to hook up to your facebook and twitter feeds, it could be worth it.

Right now I'm promoting a HOT (but kinda cheap) product and I think it might be worth the risk to test this.

That fucking thing never works right for more than a week. Only works wi gmail, and then it needs to be updated......
