Ok, so I'm in the UK and some dimwit has just dropped a leaflet off to my house, he asked for the homeowner blah blah. So I take a look at the leaflet and notice the pretty poor layout. I take a closer look and see they are using a hotmail account, Ok that's still slightly possible in this day and age. Then I look at the long ass website address: http://www.hallmarkhomeimprovements.co.uk , Oh my god. Just take a look at it. Surprise surprise it's horrible, the address and phone number don't even match the ones on the leaflet either. Proper take-your-money-and-run builders.

I think they were gypsies.
 


These are the guys that built my house. I highly recommend them. don't let the website fool you.

do you really expect a first class website from some builders. i'd be worried if they had, then they'd be expensive
 
You know - you could contact them through an address or number that works and tell them just how horrible the site and information are. On the off chance that the company is legit, you can then sell them some terrific new material and a full SEO package.

Who knows - this might turn into an entire new career once referrals start rolling in!

We're actually redoing a website that belongs to my neighbor. He has a landscaping company that has the contract on all of the Wachovia banks in Texas and Louisiana - Oklahoma, too, I think. Anyhow - his site looks a lot like this one, but he's driving a Mercedes (when he's not wearing his work clothes, that is.)

We're pulling together a professional site for him in exchange for sprinkler systems, irrigation systems, some mature landscaping and a ton of large rocks and edging. It should go nicely with the new tile roof insurance paid for after Ike. :)

I really like your product, but your site is absolutely terrible. Here are the reasons why. Here's what you're missing out on revenue / opportunity wise and here's exactly what I could do to help you. Let me know if you're interested."

Exactly - I've found a few new clients that way for content, but I'm starting to really think about branching out into a more complete development and management sort of offering. Right now I'm not skilled enough in site development outside of the content. I have to rely on my hubby and he's not as used to working on a schedule with deadlines as I am. *ahem*
