Just can't seem to get this working... any experts about?

My httpd.conf file didn't have an AccessFileName entry as everyone seems to suggest it should have. I added one and have been trying to get an ht.acl file working (as can't create .htaccess)... no luck so far.

Anyone got any tips on getting it working on Windoze?:sleep:Ta

why can't you create an .htaccess?

Can't create a file without a name and just an extension in xp (unless there's some trick I'm missing).

Checked my logs and it's picking up the ht.acl file (with errors, had something wrong in there).

Now I've fucked up my WAMP install though - stupidly disabled the rewrite mod, went to re-enable and it had gone from the list. :error:

Re-installed WAMP and now it won't let me in to change the password in phpmyadmin.... gonna try a cleaner install, but desperately trying to save my (hacked up and not saved anywhere else) databases...
