On the firing line
It's upgrade time for my second line. Already have an iPhone 5, so looking at the others.

For some reason, I really want to try a Windows phone, but I hear they don't support RDC or TeamViewer, so that sucks since I need one or both (depending).

The HTC One just seems sexy.

The S4 is big. That's all I got for that one.

Which one?

/edit/ there's even a poll... with real answers and shit.

I can't speak for any of the other phones because I haven't owned them, but I got an HTC One yesterday and it is the knees of the bees.

i got my nexus 4 last week and i am damn happy about it and aould reccomend it to anyone.
Its fast
Unlocked
Screen isn't too big
360 degree panaroma
And if you're a gamer then graphics is another plus point

but what i found out is the battery life isnt much good, maybe thats me, I've installed 50-60 apps/games on my new nexus 4 and ~2 hrs of internet surfing will fully drain your battery rather than gaming.

It also heats up quickly as compared to other phones, I havent owned other phones this is my first android ever(was a nokia 5130 user b4) but i've played games on my friends android phones and they doesn't used to get heat up quickly as this.

Just ordered myself an S4. Was seriously looking at the One because it looks so damn nice, but the weaker battery life was my primary concern.

I went with the S4 for the larger screen/resolution over the iphone, and I came from an iphone. Took 2 days to get used to it but wow! I love it.

For what I use my phone for I couldn't see going back to the smaller iphone.

I primarily use my phone for reading twitter, dropbox files, websites, email, and writing emails.

I also was amazed how much faster and snappy it felt over the iphone, and once you adjust all the settings the battery life is amazing. I normally end up with 60-72% at the end of the day (11pm-1am charge time and wake 7am-8am).

The only issue is the spacebar on the keyboard for me it's a bit too narrow for my liking.

If you like tweaking things, customizing, and such then the S4 or any android platform would be good.

Since I don't do many/any apps or tweak/customize a ton I could be fine with an iphone if it had the larger screen/resolution as the S4.

Todd, since you're coming from an Iphone this is probably news to you...

If you don't like that spacebar, you can get a different keyboard from the Play Store. Swiftkey and Swype are my favorite. You might find that you like them better than stock.

I have tried them all. iPhone, Android, Windows and Blackberry. I switched from iPhone to and S3 and I liked Android but skype was unstable and the phone in general would crash a lot. S4 also crashes from time to time but is better (but not much). After losing my S3 to a thief, I figured why not try Windows Phone (HTC 8X) since MS owns skype, the app should be killer. Nope huge disappointment. I have updated everything as of 2 weeks ago and it's still pretty flaky. It has 'potential' but right now that's all it is. It's still not a major player so lots of apps just don't exist for it. Finally after all the crashes I decided to change to a Z10 from BlackBerry. Very happy with this phone. I was however between HTC One and the Z10. The Z10 isn't perfect but the new BB platform definitely caters to guys that do a lot of typing. It's important to note that you can sideload Android apps and their system is no longer a closed BlackBerry only plan type phone.

My breakdown.

iOS - Crayola / Idiot proof
Android - College project
Windows - Microcrap
Blackberry - Enterprise

I don't really believe there is a single awesome os for phones yet, but I'm sure one day we might see one.

Yeah, I've seen some but I wanted to force myself to try to get better.

It's been a while now and I`m still constantly using a . for space so I guess it's time I look into it again :)

I`ll check those 2 out, thanks!

GS4 - Touchwhiz is one of the dumbest crayon fucked UIs ever. Great SAMOLED screen though .
HTC One - Mature Sense UI. Great design . Slightly lesser battery oomph.
Lumia 925 - Great phone.Great low light photos. But will bore you to death after some weeks. No apps,no appgasms.
Z10 - Really cool swipe gestures.Fucked up ecosystem + lack of support in some time.

Xperia Z1,Z is pretty good if you are okay with washed out natural looking colours.

As I have posted elsewhere, I have the S4. I've owned it since it was released on Verzion, so a few months. Overall it's a good phone, and you probably won't be disappointed if you pick it up. The stock firmware blows (Verizon), but there are plenty of custom firmwares that are awesome. Check out the XDA forums.

Don't buy in to the stupid S4 gimmick shit. The hover touch, eye scroll, all that is basically bullshit in my experience.

There is also the S4 Google edition, which runs stock Android. I believe there is also a Google edition HTC One.

HTC One

Have it, love it.

Previous Phone - Evo

Apps I use day to day - Gmail, Camera, Twitter, Text, Google+, Tapatalk, Vine, Piwik, Chrome

This thing FLIES. It has overall great continuity and everything just flows.

I keep the powersaving option on all day every day and charge it at the end of the day and I'm on this thing all the time.

Please stay away from Windows/Blackberry at all costs. Only use the iPhone if you are an iPhone user already. iphones are for 16 year old girls and grandmas.

I like to get shit done on my phone, no nonsense apps or games. If you are an internet marketer, you just can't beat having an Android tried and tested by thousands of power users.

Was already leaning towards the HTC ONE, so just pulled the trigger on it. It'll be here Friday.

Looking forward to it. If it sucks, I can take it back to Verizon within 14 days and try one of the others. :D

Picked up the Droid Maxx with the huge battery. Fucking love it. No lag whatsoever. And I came from the Razr HD Maxx. To me, a large battery trumps just about every other feature on a smartphone. What good is a phone if it's dead or always needing to be plugged in.The dual core in this is just as fast, if not faster than the quad in the s4.

HTC One is a good decision.
You'll love it.

Thing I found with the battery life is that at start it seems worse than it is.
Reason is simply because you'll be fucking around with it nonstop (did the same with my iphones at first)

Now, I disable mobile data connection when I don't need it and get decent battery life.

Simply put - huge display, fast CPU, 3D games (commuting, eh...), 4G/3G/LTE data transfer drain the battery - DUH!
