I got an im from someone with a rocketprofit name that says my info had been comprimised.


[16:45] hotrocketmark: None of your information is secure with Rocket Profit. Your billing information, social security number, email/address have all been archived/sold for profit. You should reconsider your dealings with "Rocket Profit"

Thats weird cause I've rarely sent them any traffic but they do have my info.
 


It has come to our attention that a spammer has illegally hacked into certain RocketProfit Team members AOL Instant Messenger accounts. This person has been messaging certain business partners with a statement that contains blatantly false information about RocketProfit security and should be dismissed immediately. We assure that all RocketProfit affiliate information is safe and secure and does not need to be changed - this is just an isolated hoax involving RocketProfit's Instant Messaging accounts and will be handled by both the proper State and Federal law authorities. Looks like some RocketProfit employees AIM accounts got hacked. Here's an email I just received from them:

I'd say that it's probably a bit of both worlds.

I had my info sold by some bastard Indian at a datacenter that housed all the info for one of the job recruitment firms I was signed up with.
Got a call from my bank asking why I was setting up and funneling money into accounts in the Virgin Islands, and why I hadn't notified them I was leaving the country (a security precaution I have for one of my credit cards. Doesn't work outside of a nominated country without notification).

I'm always REALLY sus of places that ask for my citizenry number instead of an AustralianBusiness or TaxFile number
 
Yeah I got the same AIM message, but dismissed it as either a pissed off ex-employee or a pissed off affiliate.

I havn't delt w/ rocket profit but... from my knowledge of the honesty of affiliate companies. I'd might consider signing up to lifelock. Who wants an affiliate link!?!?!?!
