I need a lightweight vertical news scroller...

that can pull content from an external HTML or XML file. It should validate in XHTML strict. I've searched Google but there are literally a million of these things and this isn't something I would normally use... but a current job calls for it.

Simple and vertical are key here.

If one of you has a favorite, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Or a repeating list of things that scroll by?
