Better WIFI adapters have dropped from my ass into the ever receiving basin below.

The fucking thing keeps disconnecting every minute or so, even as i type this it's reset twice!

Get one of these badasses:

Alfa 500mW USB Wireless B/G Adapter with RP-SMA (threaded) Antenna Jack. Antenna included.

I have one, and I can pick up signals strong at about 1500ft away. It's pretty much the best, fully supported by BackTrack 2 Linux (wireless security auditing).

Be sure to get a higher gain antenna though, like this one:

Ya see, i only got it because it was cheap and the range isn't important (as its sitting a foot away from my router)

For some reason i can't connect via Ethernet so this was my only other choice. i'll see if i can send it back then come up with another plan.

The Alfa is an exception. It's considered one of the best. I agree otherwise, I haven't heard of a good USB adapter other than the Alfa.
