More importantly, what happens to your businesses when you die?
People here are in various ports of entry when it comes to the seas of online marketing, but if you were to suddenly cross the line to the other side, what plans do you have in place regarding your business and / or family?
If something happens can your significant other continue the business without you? Certainly some people here are the primary bread winner in their households (and not just kids wasting their spoils). What do you have in place besides insurance? Is there a folder with instructions on how to maintain your empire? Or, does it all go down the drain?
Just wondering what methods people have taken to secure family and loved ones in case of dire situations. Some may think that online marketing is just a step in a journey to even greater financial "freedom" and not considered these things, but life does the unexpected. It does not have to be death it could be illness or some other event that comes along.
Would someone know to come on Wickedfire and update the community?
Would someone know to close and cash out your adwords and adcenter accounts?
Maybe you have some side projects that you participate in or own (forums, etc..), do people know of these and would they know to keep them going (maybe in your honor). Would the community suddenly vanish and become dismantled without a trace after your prepaid hosting expired?
Are there second keys to your PO Boxes where people can pick up your checks or related business mail? Do people even know you have multiple PO Boxes?
Personally have insurance, but looking to do and have more. Would love to learn what creative methods others have in place. What we do is outside of the box, even when it comes to starting businesses in general. It just seems it would be for naught to see your efforts wash away, even if it is only a step in a larger plan / greater business ideas and ventures.
What happens? Do you have plans in place?
Edit: Does your business structure take these things into account?
