rofl too bad its not back in the civil rights acts days where they lasted like 2 weeks at a time. :bowdown:

Senate Democrats staged an all-night debate on the Iraq war in a dramatic attempt to wear down Republicans who refuse to vote to begin to bring troops home by fall.

A Senate Republican leadership aide e-mails: “We’re happy to debate all night if they want, but they’re not going to accomplish anything in the extra seven hours tonight that they haven’t accomplished in the last seven months. Lame.”
 
the philibuster should be phased out. It is so pointless. Just a big waste of time for everyone involved.
