Just wanted to see if any fellow newbs would like to Skype once a week to talk IM, review each others sites, pass along tips/tricks, etc.

Browsing the net is fun and all, but it'd be cool to share struggles/progress together, learn a little. Open layout, no real structure in the beginning.

Could keep us newbs accountable to eachother, too.

your preference for any one particular thing isn't all that important for right now. since I presume the most of us will be pretty new, we'll all have different strengths/weaknesses. in fact, it's probably best if we did. we'll all be able to contribute differently, and all learn different aspects as well.

Skype is great when you're ready for it and I think someone once said that the first rule of skype is you don't talk about skype. Not sure what they mean. Anyways at this point you'll find much better content on wf, just look around, tons and tons of great information has been shared in just the past few months alone. Be careful not to end up like Andrew Myers tho (link inside).
 
I think there's value in everything. I've learned the most since I've started just by doing. Hands down. YouTube, Google, WF have all been great, and will continue as well; the information is for all levels. My thinking for Skype was simply so some people could pass along information which is difficult find, or terrible difficult for the readers to graps what the writers are talking about, etc. Just trying to drop the learning curve where possible.
