If you want to ban for self-promotion however, well:

Hypocritical much?

:: sigh ::

anyway, when someone scrapes ads thats their own business. if they want to scrape ads and share with some friends, there's nothing anyone can do.

but when you out thousands of ads, then give them freely away to vultures who really don't deserve them, then you're just accelerating the race to the bottom.

not saying everyones a vulture, but use your discretion when you give away so much data

Sorry barman, didn't mean to be a dick about ppc.bz or whatever, I was just feeling a little defensive :)

You're absolutely right about outing mass amounts of ads, and I would agree with you in most cases. I found a few quality images I use in my own campaigns in this collection that I didn't realize were getting ripped.

However, in this case, the source of these ads isn't exactly a guy and his friends...lots and lots of people already have access to this exact data, and that's all I'm going to say about that.

If there's already so many people spying on my ads... might as well give them to everyone, most of these images are already saturated as hell.

Amazes me how much time people spend gathering others' shit, or trying to figure out what people are up to.. Where's the creativity in this industry? Spend some time building things yourself, and see how much easier it is to get things profitable when you're a first mover (not necessarily with a vertical -- but even with your take on creatives, pre-sell pages or traffic sources for popular verticals)..

Creativity can be spawned by looking at what the best out there is and thinking of a creative way to do it better. You'd be stupid to enter a vertical and not look at what the top affiliates/advertisers are doing to promote it.

I never really got why affiliates who been in the game for awhile decide to create a blog. Money must be low these days.

If you were a big affiliate, you wouldn't have time to write retarded posts on how to increase your facebook CTR by 16.7% or some shit.

Make money and keep your mouth shut while you do it.

Some of the connections I've gained through blogging are invaluable. Even though I was making money at the time, it was a nice "down-time" break to write something that helps people and gives me connections. What's wrong with wanting $50k+ in referral commissions for doing something good?

If you actually have confidence in your own skills, you wouldn't worry about anything you blog.

There are a lot of fakes and over-hypeds out there though.

hey sorry for offtopic, but bro i love your blog. really insightful stuff for a newbie like me!

Allright, your call to edit the post barman, I'll respect the decision and won't post about this stuff anymore.

I won't share the link via PM either, everyone please stop PMing me about it.

Like I said before, it doesn't really matter, cat's out of the bag and has been for some time.

Anyone who wants to find this stuff can do so pretty easily, regardless of what I do.

don't worry im not banning

wf has an unspoken code about outing lps, and outing ads is close enough. if i let you do it, then it only encourages other people to do it for growing their blog, shits and giggles, or getting their rocks off to feeling important because they can''t create something original themselves.

if everyone disagreed it'd be a different story, but i think the general consensus here is that it's a pretty lame thing to do.

From your blog - " I looked at about 250,000 Facebook ads targeting all English speaking countries(US,CA,UK,etc) in late September through early October 2010 and collected the images."

As if you looked @ 250,000 Facebook ads -

Why don't you disclose where you stole them from - don't bullshit about how you scraped them from Facebook and want to help others .... I know where you got them from.

You are just a thief.

I recall from awhile back that someone was going to make a paid service that tracked facebook ads. It would steal the image/text and then display how long the ad ran and what demographics. I can only assume someone created said service for "inspiration" or as we call it stealing the successful ads.

Fuck yeah thanks for the images, im gonna use like half of these and crush the markets. I got like 10 million dollar ad budget and i've always wanted to break into facebook. Nows my chance, This gave me all kinds of ideas man im gonna be crushing this shit I hope y'all got your bread because you guys gonna be eating bread crumbs now.

BEEN HAD MONEY

SHAPOW CAMERAMAN!
