It's AdSense that just wants a 1px border seperating the images. YPN dosen't want images next to the ads at all.

I can't find anything official where google says that, but it's a pretty comon consensus that you'll be safe as long as there is a visible border seperating the images from the ads. There are exceptions to this, but odds are... you'll be alright.

That looks like a pretty big site, they probably get a bit of leeway in what they can and can not do with YPN. They have the leverage of high traffic.
