So I know it's recommended to add an image with your keyword (or phrase) as alt text to help with SEO, but I'm wondering if there can be too much of it.

For example, I'm writing about a list of 10 'best keyword'. So as part of the list I'll do an image for each entry in the list. Should I add my keyword phrase to each of these 10 images as alt text or to just a couple? I wasn't sure if too much of that could end up hurting me.

Thanks for any help.

Mix them up, make some of them partial matches, some exact matches, and leave some tags blank.

You could probably just tag them all with their respective keywords without much worry though to be honest, I have an old gaming site just sitting there collecting a few dozen hits a day through Google images, didn't build a single link, all I did was throw the exact KW into every image's alt tag (1-4 images per page).

Alt tags suppose to carry information about the image not the keywords. So, its better to add information of the image so that your image can rank in image results.
