Incentivized Network Question

Nice phrasing - "that sport incentivized offers" - but the fact is there are inherent advantages and disadvantages to working with incent networks. The advantage is that you can probably have more leniency with quality; if the network specializes in incent, they are generally lower quality with advertiser, thus allowing you a bit of a breather; if the network does NOT traditionally work with incent product, you probably need to have better quality traffic to garner the same results. It always varies on the network, the product, the quality, but you need to take each instance individually.

Would you guys insist on working with networks that sport incentivized offers? Why or why not?

Good questions.

We have a lot of incentivized offers, as well as non incentivized offers. Generally, the partners we work with for the incent offers pay a lower rate, and dont expect the highest re-bills. The majority of the time, the non incentive offers we have are completely different advertisers, so traffic from an incent offer should never really affect a non incentive offer. You have a valid question, but it should'nt be a huge concern.

I don't see why not, I work with many. The only problem I have is some networks use incent offers as non incent, and when they get caught I suffer because of their stupidity. Mostly the new networks do that though.

This thread smells like a setup for Mr ExpressRevenue's answer

You caught me!

Ok, thanks for the response -- I was mainly referring to zip/email submits as incentivized traffic. Do you think a barrier of trust interferes between a publisher and the network when they carry incentivized offers? I think it does vary, but for the most part it can be a valuable addon if you have affiliates that love to push incentivized traffic, WITHOUT instances of fraud to say the very least.

Deceptive marketing; Try to bring up that argument to your AM, it might raise some influence and you might just get paid. Good point.

I know many affiliate networks that have cut out and completely removed their incentive divisions/offers. Not to name names, they include some networks that are beloved on WF, so that is saying something. It really depends on what you want your focus to be as an affiliate.

Hmm, from a network's stand point, I think it may build a CERTAIN level of trust; good or bad between the affiliate. Now from an affiliates point of view, it looks like it can open opportunities.

Yo GrindHard, can't wait till you start your network, I'm gonna be on your ass like you've never seen before. I think that affiliates should at least know your views:

"Why don’t you want to be logical? It’s the advertisers lacking the funds.. I think there’s too much load on the network owners here.. THINK before you blame others, seriously — even if you’re an affiliate, consider both sides of the game and realize there’s not fuckin’ logical ground when you cover $ in the masses just because an advertiser doesn’t feel like paying.. Seriously. There are LOTS of losses a network takes, like floating $ in the long hall just to pay for affs quicker, but HEY it’s part of the game and we don’t complain. So quit bitching about how the industry should change, it’s the advertisers being lazy about paying.. KKTHX.. Sometimes you needa get past the bullshit hype you get from somebody like Jon and THINK.. Recap homie, get yo shit Str8 cuz you fuckin FLAKE as of now."

Incentive marketing is simply another form of traffic generation, just like PPC, e-mail marketing, web traffic, etc. are other forms of traffic generation. Each have their own pros and cons and from a network perspective, each have their own issues when it comes to compliance and quality management.

Whether or not a network allows incentive offers has nothing to do with the quality, reliability or trustability of the network. How they handle incentive offers, and their business as a whole, is a better reflection on those things.

Many networks dropped incentive marketing not because it reflected poorly on them, but because it can sometimes be a major pain in the ass to deal with incentive traffic.
