.info domains

if you want it to be a long-term "brandable" site then don't go with dot info unless it makes logical sense... for example LocalBarber.Info might make sense but FryingPan.info is idiotic.

Are you just looking for a keyword domain? It really depends what your purpose in the site is man... there is no hard and fast rule of what you should and shouldn't do.

If you're really concerned, get 2 domains... a dot com and dot info and build them simultaneously with the same concept and general information but different writing/content/design.

Test it for yourself and decide for yourself what you prefer in the future. Its a learning process and a lot of it is just personal preference. Spend $20 on a few domains and don't be afraid to make a mistake.

I usually plump for .com or country specific, i dont frown on .info but i just feel even casual internet users first think of .com

If you're doing printed promotions (flyers, door hangers . . .) then .info can be good but if .com is available go with it instead.

My 18 year old little sister told me she'd never click on an advertisement if the TLD was not a .com...and she doesn't know a darn thing about affiliate marketing.

.info are a nice cheap option for your tracking/rotators/redirect domains especially if you're just effing around with some shady stuff but i wouldn't use them for a ppc domain. i'd use a .org for anything that could be construed as an organisation though. ie federalgrants.org or healthylifestyle.org, etc.. and .coms for shopping/product sites to instill trust.
