Introduction

Hi, everyone. I usually just go by E. Live in Philadelphia, 29, twice a proud college dropout, chainsmoker, scotch drinker, freelance writer and sometimes marketing consultant.

Been reading endlessly here for a few days now. I know a little about SEO (more than someone who doesn't know a goddamn thing, at least), but nothing like what I've been seeing here. Not tech-savvy at all, and I know nothing about what goes on here. But I intend to change that.

I was looking into AM, found some interview Nicky cakes did, was reading around his blog, which led me here.

So my first dumbfuck question, to show how hopeless and clueless I am: can anyone recommend any good books/resources for learning HTML, CSS, etc.? I refuse to buy anything called the Complete Idiot's Guide. Thanks.

Often you're just better off buying a book to learn new languages, but it depends; a basic language like HTML is easy to learn from online tutorials and resources. Check here:

HTML Tutorial

That site should teach you everything you need to know to get started. If you decide to buy books, for my buck the best written are the Visual Quickstart guides, but you should spend a few hours in the store to determine which is best for your learning style.

Thanks, radarig. I'm on it. Wanna jump in and just try out some of the things I've read here, but not knowing what the hell to do with a domain name, technically, once I have it is stopping me at this point.

This thread is as good as any to have my first post. Monumental! Ha
You can call me T. I live in Washington and I recently went on a possible permanent hiatus from nursing school to go ft with AM. Good Choice? We'll see........

Warning! I have a sick sense of humor and tend to offend often, but I'll try my best to behave. ;)

Hello...

Alright, as requested in the Suggestion Box, here is where you can post an introduction of:
Who are you?
What you are about?
How do you waste your time and pretend to be working all day?
What sports do you like?
How many years have you been a webmaster/marketer/designer.. etc for?
What are your goals in life?
How many kids do you want to have?
Do you pick your nose and eat it?
Do you think OJ Simpson was guilty?
What's your favorite color?
Are you really answering all of these questions?
Do you really have nothing better to do?

Monkeyman is in da house... I am 25 year old and I live in Finland. I have two daughters. I have been web business as designer about two years and now I am building my empire in bluehat way.

I waste my time by lurking around here and also reading bluehatseo, nickycakes, sligthy shady seo -blogs.

I think this is all I want to say right now. I have to get back to work...

And here is tits for ya --> ( o Y o )

Here Goes Sean...Hi ya ALL, Sean's in da Block...Looking Forward to help the newbie and get helped by my senior affiliates..Take care!!!

Hey there. Name's Pop, Lolly Pop.
I would like to find out more about online marketing, affiliate marketing in particular. My knowledge in this area is very limited so far. All I know is that affiliate marketing involves people promoting other people's products (online and offline) and collecting the finder's fee.
I'm a 9-5 guy, (followed by school 6-10 Mon-Fri) thinking of making some extra dough. Gotta pay the bills. Talking about school: I don't know whether to take any classes next semester, or to advance in this marketing game instead.
I am not a big fan of sports, but I would watch a decent soccer match.
I haven't been involved in any advanced Web development probably b/c of the relatively busy schedule. Primarily, I just modify given templates to suit my needs.
My goals in life consist mostly of excelling at things I know how to do right now. This includes building a more extensive knowledge database of marketing strategies.
I currently have none and do not plan on having any within the next 10 years. I'm 23 now and wish to first become somewhat financially stable and wise (in terms of education) prior to any serious commitment, be it a marriage or even a serious relationship.
I do not pick my nose and eat it - I'm a vegetarian.
I'd rather keep my opinion on the 'OJ Simpson' case to myself. EDIT: Fuck yeah he was guilty.
My favorite color is a two tone: dark blue and gray.
Are you really answering all of these questions? Apparently yes and I'm sure I have a few other things I want to do.
