They sell it for a onetime fee, but it says it's constantly updated. How the hell do they make money that way? Is this true? You pay once for it, and get constantly updated information?

Actually, I realized how dumb that question was. I still don't get how they make any good money just charging people a onetime fee, though.
Yeah, it's updated on a regular basis. I guess they will be making money off the up sells in the future.
i use it, its still in beta and has been for 4 months or so since it was launched.

That's the way it works right now.
Long-term, we're losing money.
Short-term, selling it at a discounted one-off cost in beta is funding our development.
People who buy later won't get such a good deal. But people who are buying now, putting their trust in us, and putting up with the occasional bug - we're rewarding them.
