They only use the malcontents in order to attack Christians and deconstruct the institution of marriage. Although Obama probably has homosexual proclivities, their strategic intent is to polarize and enrage those who have chosen a deviant lifestyle.
Most of the interest groups that make up the Democrat Party are collections of those practicing deviant, illegal or abnormal behavior. It is in Obama's and his cohorts' interest to convince those groups that not only is their behavior normal and acceptable, but that their only hope and salvation lies in supporting him. They use this same tactic on homosexuals, illegal aliens, drug addicts, etc...
And the term "homophobe" is utterly meaningless, as it is an extreme-leftist word created for political purposes, much like "climate change", "Islamophobe", "global warming", "pro-choice", etc... Those who don't care for homosexuals are generally not afraid of them; they just find their behavior abhorrent and repulsive.

You're not serious, are you? I'd argue LGBT is the preferred term in terms of being politically correct. I can't remember the last time I saw anything even referring specifically to "gays", it's almost always LGBT.
And saying 4 syllables is a lot easier to say than 11, so that's why he said it as an acronym than as the full list.
