Is the newest version of Firefox Slow as Hell...

or do I just have some plug-in's that are bogging it down?

Everything seems to lag hard in the latest version. These are the only extensions I'm showing installed and active.

Firebug
Gmail manager
Kaspersky URL Advisor
Last Pass
Search Status SEO
SenSEO
Colorzilla
Anti-Banner
Java Console

Any way to speed this thing up...it's driving me fucking crazy.
 


been noticing lots of lag myself since i upgraded and the only plug in i have on it right now is firebug

I am currently running FF 4.01 with an even 30 addons and no noticeable speed degradation. What version are you running?

Slightly off topic: Another thread the other day got me to re-try chrome/iron because of the alleged complete set of plugins they have available now and the blinding speed. It was faster until I started adding the addons. Result was, they had only a portion of the plugins I use regular and after about the first 8 it came to a grinding halt. Both chrome and iron were much slower than FF.
 
Glad I have been clicking the "ask later" button every time the update dialogue comes up. Thanks for the heads up!

Maybe I'll give Chrome a shot. I tried it back when it was first released and didn't like it at all, but this click lag and page load speed is just getting unbearable.

Ive been a loyal FF user since netscape and am pretty much done with it. Its slow as fuck and I am tired of it. Someone on WF turned me on to SRE Iron (chrome without the bullshit) and I love it super fast reliable and the element inspector doesnt suck as much as it may initially appear so its better than the latest FF where you cant even run Firebug for now. FF is fucked up and I dont see it getting better anytime soon. Todays browsers are faster and leaner than ever and FF is going the way of a bloated piece of shit IE
