I've noticed something interesting. Several offers in my CPA network which were top converting also have the most no. of creatives. is this a matter of coincidence or is there a relationship?

I'd say the quality of the landing page you drive people to has more to do with the offer's profitability than the number of creatives... at least that's what I've figured thus far. I am still learning this game.

This is my first post, but I hope to be contributing regularly to this forum. Thanks to all in advance for the fantastic info that is out here thus far!

You can't really say one way or the other- You need to test.

However, if there are tons of creatives that look fantastic and their LP looks great, it may convert a little better because they've probably spent some time optimizing the offer.

I think there are two points here, and Unarmed Gunman is right when he states that a number of top affiliates do utilize their own (unapproved, mind you:oP) creative:
1) The more successful campaigns will have more creative by default - when mailers and display folk continuously 'hammer' the same creative, the consumer becomes numbed and performance stagnates; specifically for email, the more a creative is mailed the more filters pick up the coding, etc, and it becomes blocked - both of these precipitate the need for additional creative.
2) When offers are wildly successful, AE's and Networks and Advertisers will generally pursue every possible angle to sustain the lifespan of the campaign, 'milking' the performance, which generally involves multiple evolutions to the 'pitch,' the 'call of action,' etc.

It's an interesting conundrum - more successful offers will usually have a lot of creatives simply due to the long lifespan of the offer - what i have noticed, being on the sales side, is that generally speaking affiliates do not want to be bombarded with too many creatives to choose from. Networks that go in and update creatives frequently to remove the older ones that have probably been used a great deal will see a longer campaign life.
