I bought a template from somebody and I found out afterwards that it's only for WordPress 2.3 and above, and GoDaddy only has wordpress 2.1 installed so what should I do? Is there anyway to install this template or do I need to download WP 2.3 from somewhere and install it myself instead of using the installation from GoDaddy?

Must be something wrong with the template, I just upgraded to 2.3 and it's still doing the same thing. It's not showing the images, like it's missing them or missing the CSS stylesheet, but I uploaded the entire contents of the folder including those files.

ya the template should work regardless of the version as long as its 2.+ so could be something with your files...delete it and upload it again & test it..sometimes ftp causes problems...make sure the image paths are correct as well

The problem was that I re-named my theme folder.

Can anybody explain how to edit the left side bar in a wordpress template? I need to have a list of my articles or categories in that menu. Or I would like all my new pages to be listed on the side menu instead of being at the top above the header which makes it hard to find. Was this done in the coding of the template?

It depends on how your template is set up. In mine, there's a sidebars.php which contains the code for both the left and right sidebars. The left sidebar code is actually after the right sidebar code in that file. Hope that helps.

I figured it out, I was able to get in contact with my coder and it's called "widgets" in WP. I was able to easily drag/drop, an option for recent posts.

Thanks

I did do that, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was that I renamed my theme folder. Problem has been fixed.

thats mean u iinstall via fantastico rite... why dont u install it manually... 1st u just need to edit config.php and after u fill the detail just upload on your hosting... type your url, install php and you'll get password and u can login... after that go to user and change the password... and do some configuration on it... same like u do when using fantastico...

add your 2.3 theme and add the plugins that u need... that it... easy.. so easy...
