I've got tracking figured out now i just have to pick a campaign that i want to run. Do you guys think an antispyware campaign is a good first shot at the marketing world?

Not really, not enough offers to test against. I would not suggest going into an area against giants with huge ad spend. (Norton, etc.)
By no means and I suggesting to follow the crowd, but pick a vertical you can scale and test multiple offers. Anti-spyware is limited unless you are working with maybe CJ.

AntiVirus is a very high volume niche, and due to the fact that the consumer usually requires an immediate fix, the conversons are high. If you are looking to promote software, and want a niche that can be scaled to high $$$ a day then it's a great place to start.
If you're just getting your feet wet with paid traffic then it can definitely get pricey, but depending on the offer, and how much support your network is willing to give, you can see success out of the gate.

I think it should not be a good choice at the beginning. Although you can target it later, not at the first.
