is your Twitter Automation Software still working?

Hey all,

so I've been using Tweetsbot to manage my multiple Twitter accounts, but last week Twitter made big changes to their architecture that basically made the program unusable for like a week. They just released a patch but it only lets you connect to 1 account at a time now...

I contacted the help support of this software and they said that ALL twitter automation programs are affected and most of them don't work anymore...

is that true? Anyone still able to manage multiple accounts (mass-follow, mass-unfollow, etc...) with their software?

it's because they've switched from their shitty unprotected API to an OAuth based API that makes it more difficult to spam from.

The best way to go after twitter is to automate a browser IMO
 
As dchuk said, it's the authentication system, not the software that's keeping the software from working. Wait for an update.

As with anything automated, the party being affected (Twitter here) will do what they can to keep doing business as usual, so there will naturally be adaptations that need to be made.
 
I got a burger king submit offer spam, i am pretty sure it was by tweepster, so its still working
 
I use HootSuite to help schedule tweets for my companies... it helps a lot (and there is a mobile phone version so I can manage multiple accounts at once). It's not full "automation" though.
 
In case any of you are wondering, twitter stopped allowing basic authentication for API calls.. in order to use the API you need to now have a registered twitter app as of Sep 1.
 
Yes it happened even for me. I think from now its difficult to find a better software for some days.
 
TweetAttacks works fine because it uses the browser, so it's a normal Twitter Login. However you can't use multiple accounts at the same time, which is why it sucks!

The app I was using (Tweetsbot) was allowing me to connect on 7 accounts at the same time and daily-follow members by geo-location and keyword... I really hope this will be fixed because I was starting to make some good money with this!

Virtual machines are your friend.
 
anyone come up with a way to tweet using thousands of twitter accounts without basic auth? :( i was thinking of hiring some ppl to log into each one and create a api app and give me the creds
 
I´m using Tweetadder for some time now, there way a very short period with some problems, nut since the last two updates there is all running well.

Maybe there is an update for your software too?
 
I assume WP-Tweetbomb is dead then?

I haven't used it in a while - I was running into too many issues with auto-blogs and decided to shelve it for a while. Other projects were more promising and I never looked back.

Multiple sockets / proxies. It shouldn't be hard and I'm sure I could do it. People have probably just been developing with the API up until now because it's simpler.
