You're right. I have been watching anime for about 8 yrs now. I watch a lot of foreign media in general. I don't tend to overreact anyways so even if I wasn't familair with Japanese culture I wouldn't let something like that ruin my day.
Asian countries doesn't have have the same moral panic when it comes to races and ethnic groups as the western world have. Very funny video
Actually, Japan is one of the most racist societies you'll ever come across. Their culture is pretty much unapologetic about it, too. Goes back thousands of years and even involves people of Asian descent (Ainu, just to name one).
