Just some numbers

Yeah as you move up the problem becomes finding opportunities to invest more money in. For a while, I was always at my budget, with plenty more to do. While I have many things to test and try, I don't have much to readily dump more spending in to get the kind of returns I am looking for... so I suspect my spending budget for February may actually be under budget for the first time.

So what level are you at?

I've actually only spent about $100 total on ad networks in the past 2 months. I just make a accounts with free coupons and everything from there is pure profit. approx $50/day

Very nice profit Mike :)

My only problem at the moment with arbi is that I'm too low on funds right now to
finance my ppc campaigns. So even though I have 20 sites ready to crank a total $1000 profit daily, I don't have the $$ to fork out upfront for the clicks :(
It also sucks that Adsense witholds payments up to 60 days, so the money I make now in early february - I won't see until the end of march / beginning of april... :(

I guess the turnover time for affiliate is a little easier to manage, since you always get paid at the end of the month and can quickly put earnings back into ppc.

Perhaps you should opt for EFT (direct deposit) payments from Adsense. I made it my default payment method and got my first payment before the end of the FIRST month following (Jan payment by the end of Feb). Beats the hell outta waiting 60 days for a check....

BTW....Way to go, Mike...Hope to catch up to you soon!!!

Glad you are doing well. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but your spreadsheet is totally unrealistic though. You can't just say you are going to double your spend every week and the traffic will magically appear. Traffic is a limited quantity every day, and there are many people buying it. Just because you want to spend 50k a week on PPC doesn't mean you can. Also, you may think 60% is a safe bet, but these markets are so volitile one day you may have 100% then next -20%.

I have to agree on this one. i have a hard enough time finding an offer that convets well. But when i do, i beat every dollar i can get out of it and try to get as much converting traffic as possible.
Im gonna try to expand more to cj, they have so many offers that there has got to be alot of opportunity there.

I think he wrote in another thread that if he made 18 more sites making $50/day then he would have $1000/day. So if my math is right, he's currently making $100/day. Still pretty good.

Anyway, maybe it's just me but I've found that scaling up is not nearly as easy as it may seem.

Yeah I doubt you can do the projections linearly as Mike has done. Maybe you can through the first few iterations but then it probably gets harder to gain the same margin.

Thank guys. I agree that traffic is indeed limited and those numbers won't hold up for long, but with unlimited niches, my goal is to blow them out. If niche A runs out of traffic around the $2000 per week ad spend, then you just need to add niche's B, C, D etc. etc.

There's a lot of things that make this projection sheet a little unrealistic, but I'm a dreamer and I like to set goals wicked high to shoot for. If I'm shooting for $50,000 per week in 10 weeks, I'll be closer to $50k than if I said my goal was $2000 per week in 10 weeks. Sure, I'll probably be able to realistically hit $2000 per week by that date, but I won't be as far along as I would be with the harder goal.

"Realistic" goals allow you to get complacent and coast. I can't afford that.

Anyhow, I hope that my spreadsheet at least got you thinking about your goals and what you need to do to make them a reality.

That's a good point. I'm quite realistic in my expectations but sometimes you need to have a dream, a goal that may seem like you can't reach, but you set out for it anyway. It makes you try a little harder.

Good job, Mike. Keep up the good work. I hope in the end it all works out for you.

Except that hopefully as you go, you learn more and get better at it, so that should help offset getting past the easy wins to the next level.

glad to see someone else excited - while i'm not taking the same route, having white-hat content sites built for me as of now, i'm looking at some aff sites too and looking to get more into that as the weeks go by.

its good to have other people around w/ the same positive attitude- hard to convince your friends in the average job that you really can make $$$$$ online

Reefer420 - don't worry about convincing others. Sometimes it's hard enough just explaining what you do. I've been looking for a place to live lately, and when I say I'm and Affiliate Marketer, or SEO / SEM, or any of the other titles that we could go by, I usually get a blank stare followed by "What's that?" I've found it's easiest just to say I do online advertising for companies. People can grasp that.

I like posting these motivational threads because, I don't feel I have enough knowledge to really help otherwise. So, I hope that my enthusiasm will rub off and maybe help people that way.

Well you've definatly gave me the motivation today, I've done some major keyword research into a little niche that I think will bring me in some decent money for the next year or so and I know for a fact I can get into the top 10 search results once I launch the site so that is a bonus. Well actually I'm not 100% sure I can get into the top 10 but 99.9% sure it seems like an easy one to crack based upon my previous experince.

Here is a quick question though the main keyword in which I'm going after gets 3,350,000 searches based upon Google Suggest and I know I can very that by 100,000 searches, what is the average number that everyone else here goes after for a niche site?

My other site is in top 10 for a couple of lower keywords which gets searched about 130,000 times and I'm averaging an easy 100 unique visits per day from those so this new keyword might have some potential.

Its a 3 word phrase which makes it fairly targeted so hopefully I'll be able to get some good conversions out of it.
