Guys,

I've tried and tried I'm losing so much money..

How do I CORRECTLY choose keywords?
Why are none of mine bringing me conversions?

I have t202 set up and I am only getting clicks..

I am promoting a coupon offer.. I have tried laser targeting by using name brands and being very specific..

Nothing is working.. Can anybody give some advice??

Here are some I used:

Free coupons

Free printable coupons

Free grocery coupons

Things like that.. Even name brands..

if you were the customer looking for that product what would you type in?

would it be free widget

or

where can I get free widgets

or maybe

best place to get free widgets

best pricing on free widgets

literally several ways you could type what you are looking for.

Chances are you aren't using enough keywords is my guess and maybe to generic as well

I had like 20 - 30..

One day I had 6 conversions so I optimized..

Now it's dead... I am currently split testing keywords..

Using 2 to 4 at a time and spending 50% to 150% of the offer payout on each keyword..

None of them are converting...

I have not tried that and will get on it right away..

Wish me luck!

I am running a campaign right now that has 250 keywords 70 which are getting any traffic and I could definitely use more so i would up the list of KW's

A good tactic is to hit up yahoo answer about a specific popular coupon and get your site as the best answer.

I had a bad experience with yahoo answers..

All of my answers always get reported and all of my accounts have been banned....

Hi,
I think you are in a big trouble. Some negative efforts and you could be penalized. I am not horrifying you, it is the reality.

I think, go for On-Page SEO, maybe there is some problem in the content.

I thought 7search was mostly junk traffic from parked domains?

I heard the same thing... On the other hand, this type of traffic could be perfect for coupon offers.

I mean you have to look at the demo. Which idiots are stupid enough to type in typos and then click a link, probably the same people who would complete a coupon offer. On the other hand, if the traffic is pure shit than no luck

You mention that you had 6 conversions one day and then you "optimized"? What changes did you make in this "optimization"? Did you block sources or remove keywords that might lead to conversions?

For starter, review the keywords report to see which of your keywords generated the conversions. The report includes the actual search phrase that lead to the conversion and is a great starting point for diving into the long tail.

If you have more questions, feel free to DM me here. I'll be happy to help.

Best,

Well, I always go after such keywords as "product name". They convert way more better than typical how to keywords.

For competition you might use SEO for firefox plugin.

What's your ad spend compared to your competition? Margins are thin on any paid search if you don't have quality intel or real dough. If you're looking for help on a forum that's filled with your competition, then you're probably lacking intel or real dough.

Start there. Think about what you can work for/pay for that your comp won't. If you can't compete, find another avenue for traffic.

Always avoid broad terms like poker, sports, weight loss, writing and others because you will have a hard time ranking your site up in search engines. Also people who use these words do not have an idea on what they are looking for in the internet. Target at least two long tail keywords for you to have less competition.

Be more specific so you will have greater chances in optimizing your website. Use catchy keywords…ones in which, readers will really have the “urge” to check your site…make sure as well that it’s relevant to the product or service that you are marketing.
