End of the rainbow
It's funny how a lot of people, myself included, tend to focus on one method of getting traffic. There's a lot to be said about mastering one thing before moving on to the next, but then what tends to happen is you get lazy and/or content and just stick with what you know.

I never got into the whole craigslist spamming thing, but I have this relatively new affiliate for one of my offers that is absolutely killing it with craigslist.

Obviously he has a bunch of software to automate things, probably a handful of computers to run it all, he has over 500+ domains I've identified, I'm sure he goes through a ton of proxies and all that "hassle" ... but still.

While most people are struggling with PPC or bitching about the high barriers to entry with most media buying, this guy is just killing it with free ads. Obviously this is the "one thing" he chose to get really good at.

I've paid the guy over 100k in commissions in barely 6 weeks ... and while he does have costs I'm sure most of that is pure profit. I'm *almost* tempted to get off my lazy ass and setup my own little craigslist/classified ad spamming system myself.

Well, just something to make you go hmmm.....

So basically you run your own network/offer and yet you have never heard of craigslist spamming, and also admit to stealing your affiliates methods for personal profit. Nice.

What legal consequences are there spamming CL? I would assume if you pissed them off enough they could send legal your way? Not sure what laws its breaking. Definitely not Can Spam, since its not email. Network attack? Network breach?

It's a civil issue, not a criminal one. If you did it enough craigslist could try and sue their ass.

what offers do you have? I know someone that knows someone that knows someone that might do a huge amount with CL.

Of course I've heard of craigslist spamming, I said I've never done it. As far as stealing my affiliates methods, I said "almost". And even if I did start advertising on craigslist that wouldn't be stealing his method, since 4 million other people do it.

If you think advertisers aren't looking at where your traffic is coming from and using that info to their advantage, you're pretty naive. That's just one of the downsides of being an affiliate. Hate the game, not the player. I treat my pubs right anyway.

You sound bitter ... I was just posting a thought-provoking observation I made ...

Yeah good luck with that. You've to worry about ghosting, flagging, outsourcing recaptchas, your pva's getting killed, rotating proxies or whatever your method of obtaining ips. They change the game every week and it get's harder and harder.

Yeah, that's why I said "almost". I have plenty of affiliates who are more than happy to do all that dirty work for me. ;)

As far as legal issues, I dunno. Seems like if you did it right there's no way in heck they could ever prove it was the same person posting a million ads so it doesn't seem like there's much they could do... that's why they are apparently trying to attack the problem from a technical angle, although they obviously aren't there yet lol

They can serve you for unauthorized use. It happened to someone I knew who was running a posting agent service and selling software that "allegedly" broke the CL terms of use. He settled out of court for mid 5 figures.

It would be hard for them to pinpoint individual mass posters and expect a large settlement out of it especially if you cover your footprints well enough, but it can and has happened.

What is the point of this thread though? People have been banking off CL for years.

The point of the thread was just to get people thinking. That's all. I see so many people banging their heads against the wall with 1 or 2 tactics, and just thought it might get them thinking. I'm sorry if that's not enough of a "point" for you.

dsiomtw = fool.

This is not DP... everyone knows about craigslist. And especially no one gives a dullspace how much you paid your affiliate. I love how you casually threw out a number like someone would inquire about your shitty network.

want to fucking bet?

LOL if you only knew. I don't own a network, and I've deleted the few PMs I've received without replying. I don't need to come on wickedfire to drum up business lol. Some of you people are too jaded for your own good.
