I know there are some people in here that love UFC. I missed the Kimbo fight, but I'm already reading a bunch of comments online. What's the story?

Ken shamrock days were really great to watch. with this fight, i'll go with nelson

No big shocker there. Although I expected Nelson to look better.

Now they are going to spend the rest of the season teasing some big Kimbo comeback that will never happen. Lame.

I am about to watch it

will update when I get back

I read something about a TKO

they should let dude from the first one get a TKO

that dudes skull was FUCKED

Kimbo got laid on the entire time. nelson could not stand toe to toe with kimbo and exchange punches, he would've got rocked.

Kimbo, needs to up the ground game. Nelson didn't do shit really. I think the ref is GAY for stopping the fight.

Nelson could not stand toe 2 toe with him which was obvious.

My friend hung out with Kimbo in a club in Miami. Said he showed up on a Segway wearing valour pajama pants and a wife beater and kept dipping out on the segway to pick up more 8-balls.

This has nothing to do with the fight, but I want to see Kimbo on a Segway.

I was rooting for kimbo to knock his ass out. But roy was smart, he took him down hard twice... That shit wasnt luck.

Then he put that big ass gut on him and pinned both his arms..

Roy won the match. it was fucking boring as shit, but he won. Thats all he had to do to advance and he did it..

It wasnt about who was the better fight or most powerful. it was about who was the smarter fighter. Roy was and it showed.

I hate playing pool with people who don't know how to keep the balls on the table....

The fight was pretty boring and neither fighter looked too impressive. Kimbo got a few shots on him but the shots weren't even strong enough to daze Nelson. I don't think the fight should have been stopped either as Nelson's punches weren't doing any damage. Either way Kimbo was outmatched and is more of a character than a fighter.

I wanted Kimbo to win, but once that 260lbs got ontop of Kimbo, he couldnt do anything. Kimbo landed some good punches in the 2nd round, but couldnt keep the fight on thier feet. I think he'll be back at some point tho

I skipped every comment that's already been made, so please excuse if this has already been said:

Roy Nelson fought like a bitch. I know, a win is a win, no doubt, but he basically laid on Kimbo in the crucifix position and because of his big-ass Double Whopper belly, Kimbo couldn't get him off.

Now, some people will say that Kimbo should have learned/been able to get him off him, but we all know that his ground game is garbage still. He's working on it, though, and Dana White wasn't impressed at all with Nelson's performance.

Kimbo outstriked Nelson on the feet in both the 1st and 2nd round -- in both instances forcing Nelson to take him down or get knocked out. It's up for debate, but I think he had Nelson dazed in the 2nd. The takedown that Nelson got in the 2nd basically looked like he clinched with Kimbo last resort and luckily caught him off balance and scored the takedown.

After the fight Nelson went over to Dana White and Frank (or was it Lorenzo -- mighta been Lorenzo actually) Fertitta and said, "Gimmie a Double Whopper w/ cheese. The king can have it his way" or something just corny to that effect. Dana was like (paraphrased), "Is this guy serious? He barely squeaked out a win and he thinks he's the man?". Dana also commented on Nelson's first crucifix that he caught Kimbo in in the first by saying that the strikes he was throwing to Kimbo's head were like the ones "his daughter throws at me when we're play-wrestling" or something. I don't know anyone that actually practices MMA that I know that was impressed with Nelson's performance. On the flip side, the majority of these people were impressed with Kimbo's performance. If he can learn a decent ground game, the dude is gonna be dangerous. He's already rumored to be on the TUF10 Finale card and Dana White has gone on record to say that he has a place in the UFC if he can get his shit together on the ground.

Also, Rashad Evans said in an interview either yesterday or the day before yesterday that he wants Kimbo to come train with him at Greg Jackson's gym in New Mexico.

Also, per Lorenzo Fertitta: ""We've been very impressed with Kimbo's performance (...)"
