Is the only use for a LP to try to "warm up" the traffic before sending it to the offer page?

Isn't it better to just send it directly to the offer? Why add another step (and another chance for the traffic to drop out) into the flow?

What about situations where an offer has its own LP, would you add your own LP to that as well?

Thank you.

if offer is simple like browser game, e-mail/zip submit, free dating signup, toolbar download (even here already can possibly start LP step, same with DL games) - then no

If you use the LP to tell them how the offer will help them, then yes, its basically necessary

Send all your traffic direct to the merchant's page. They know how
to "sell" their products.

Make some money, gather some stats, and study what makes people
buy online. Then _maybe_ create your own pre-sales sales page.
