Lemons884 Journal- Will this noob succeed?

Fixed the Right Sidebar on the homepage! Also checked my backlinks:

Yahoo: 51 backlinks
Google: 33 backlinks
Google Images: 20 backlinks
AOL: 2 backlinks

Still don't know what website PR means (above posts said my site now has PR of 1) and how that relates to my site.
 


Cool thread - as a relative noobie, you can count me as another subscriber. Good luck with it all.

One quick question though:

Lemon it was very interesting to read all your "days". I just love to read such a stories, because the are real internet life stories, that all of us once experienced.

Just keep it that way, you are learning every day, and taking action which is even better!

A little tip: Try creating a linkwheel, that way you will improve your SEO much faster!

I tried that, worked fantastic for 2-3 days - and then my site went back to page 4 again :(

Now it's been 20+ days - and my site is still on page 4 (it was on page 1 for the 2-3 days where the linkwheel seemed to work)

hmmm just keep it building, make another linkwheel around every part of your basic linkwheel, i know its a lot of work, but i think its the fastest way. Plus, you can add social bookmarks to each part of the linkwheel too. 20-30 a day is more then enough..per link of course ;)
 
Day 31

Day 31 Summary:

-Added two articles
-Will add one post to my blog later
-Added 5 tools to the tools category
-Fixed the right sidebar to be aligned with the heading "about"
-Added title and meta tags to home page (thanks pfgannon for making me aware these were missing)
-My backlinks increased by 4 and I didn't even add them myself. This is good.
-My website now has 94 posts and 9 pages.
-I was approved for the affiliate program: shareasale.com ; over a few days I'm gonna join some merchant programs and see how this works. Real Products > digital products. (selling ebooks is rough when people know about torrents; even the computer inclined will google free copies)

Questions Still Lingering in my brain:

-Its almost the end of the month, will Bidvertiser pay me?
-Do linkwheels still work? I heard you can get deindexed.......

Future Projections

-More traffic; more backlinks are increasing organically and my traffic is slowly climbing in average.

Lemons 10 out of 10 for endurance, you don't appear to be showing any signs of slowing down. Keep it up and the monies will being to roll in. This is a great thread +rep
 
have you thought about spinning some of your articles and submitting them to ezine, squidoo, etc.? and keep doing the yahoo answers.. they are no-follow but they decent amounts of traffic for the work involved.

Day 32 Summary:

-Added one article
-Will add blog post later
-Added article to weebly and linked my site
-Not much else; another day of no sleep for me. (possible acute insomnia)

Questions Still Lingering in my brain:

-When will bidvertiser approve my ad?

Future Projections

-More backlinks- they keep increasing naturally which is making me happy. Either they are finnally getting indexed or people are added them
-Buying a social bookmarking package

Lemon I have enjoyed reading all 4 pages of your actions to include today's. I have never posted choosing to just read.

Thought I would add, since time is your enemy, have you thought about creating a squidoo page, hubpage, socialmarker etc. This should increase your traffic, backlinks and get your pages ranked higher.

I love my site so I'm not stopping even if it doesn't make money after several months. I think thats what keeps me motivated- I keep my expectations low and my goals high. Kind of a weird train of thought but it works.

I don't wish to submit my articles at this time. Maybe in the future.

Thanks a lot; I can't wait till basic training.

Okay today I'm hitting my site hard. Gonna create that linkwheel. I have been lazy creating the linkwheel because I don't like creating new accounts so I'm making sure to get that done today.
 
Day 33

Day 33 Summary:

-Added backlink to stumbleupon.com (social boomarking)
-Added backlink to blinklist.com (social bookmarking)
-Added blog comment to techcrunch.com
-Added backlink to trailfire.com (social bookmarking)
-Created a linkwheel with these sites. I also added an RSS feed to squidoo and added anchor text to the squidoo links.
Weebly links to squidoo and my main site
Hubpages linkes to squidoo
squidoo links back to hubpages and my main site
-Added 2 articles
-My backlinks are again increasing in the search engine. Google went up by 10, AOL went up 1, and yahoo indexed 3 more
-Joined a merchant for shaleasale.com I think its a pretty good affiliate network and it seems well organized.
-4 more days till bidvertiser is suppose to schedule to pay me threw paypal. I'm gonna use some of the money to buy a 100 social bookmarking package in the sell/buy trade section.
-My Bidvertiser ad is still pending
-Will add blog post later on. After that post is made, my site will then have 100 posts and 9 pages.

Questions Still Lingering in my brain:

-How long does it take for this linkwheel to work?

Future Projections

-Backlinks increasing more. Right now I'm add a steady rate of 2-4 backlinks increasing a day. I need all the backlinks I can get because my niche is really rough.

Just installed crazy egg. Thanks. I don't have any tags on my blog; I didn't think they were important (I thought they had something to do with keywords)

I'm can't really understand "meta tags" and all of that stuff. all-in-one SEO puts in the title, description, and keywords for me. Are they the same thing?

so tommorow I'm gonna get tags in a lot of pages and posts. I probably will replace the greek dude everyone is hatin on him.
 
Good thread. What's your goal with this site? You said long term but how much revenue are you looking to build with it?

Maybe consider throwing up an opt-in form...offer a free report on the tip 10 ways get cut in 30 days or less etc etc for their email and name...then have an autoresponder sequence...

I don't have the money for an autoresponder at the time. If I do; it will be after I get a good flow of traffic going (at least 700+ a day).

My goal is to get a constant revenue flow with ads and clickbank and affiliate sales. My first goal is to break even before I have to re-purchase my hosting which is about 11-12 months.

I'm actually thinking about making my own product and its in the works right now. Read "my blog".....I'm following this crazy diet and I'm calling it the PSMF experiment and if it works I'm probably gonna write a book or e-book on it.
 
Thanks for your journal reporting. I'm learning from your learning process. Sounds like your big break is right around the corner. I enjoy reading your progress!
