Day 38

Day 38 Summary:

-My bidvetiser payment is in audit and now I won't get it until July 31. This sucks.
-Adding one post to my blog later in the day
-My ezine articles are currently under review
-If they all get accepted, and hopefully when I apply to premium and get it, I'm just gonna be rewriting all of my articles and get a good amount of backlinks from there.
-Today I'm gonna look into my competition by searching my own keywords and will do some blog comments. Gonna aim for about 20 today after my workout.
-Also gonna use yahoo answers again; I have one more account thats not banned...
-I searched my site in google and only 3 pages came up. Thats confusing me? My site is still relatively new but you would think tons of posts/pages would have been indexed by now.

Questions Still Lingering in my brain:

-When will ezine hurry up and review my articles; I want backlinks!!!

Do you have a sitemap xml file for your website? If so, did you submit it to google/yahoo/msn/etc?

Day 39 Summary:

-Thanks francky, my site was not on bing like I thought. Bing looks like its gonna be the next big thing.
-My ezine articles are still being looked at. Once there approved I'm just gonna be writing articles and getting a lot of backlinks from that
-The majority of my traffic is coming from wikipedia links. I'm gonna try to find ways to get more backlinks from wikipedia. The rest of my traffic is coming from google and yahoo but I only get 30 visitors a day from the search engines.
-Gonna look for keywords that haven't been hit yet and optimize my site on them.
-Bidvertiser sucks; as soon as I get my payment I'm gonna look for something else. Again, I can't get google adsense because I was banned 2 years ago for using automated traffic; and I already tried reapplying (my mistake)
-(O/T) one card away from a royal flush today...

Questions Still Lingering in my brain:

-Ezine making me impatient; I want to write articles. A lot funner then blog comments.......(which usually get delted by the admin anyhow)

been reading this thread with interest Lemon.

I was wondering if you manually submit to the social bookmarking sites or if you use socialmarker.com etc... also did you bookmark other sites as well as your own?:drinkup:

I'm assuming you think it works otherwise you wouldn't have posted it but is there a risk of pissing Google off by doing that? Do all of the backlinks show up at once?

lol Theres some good deals on my website- look around.

I need backlinks bad; I'm just out of money and I can't get a job because I'm leaving in exactly one month anyhow to basic training.

I have been manually submitting my site to social bookmarking sites.
 
Are you running google analytics? If so which page is bringing in the most traffic right now? And whats bounce rate on that page? Lets try to incorporate some type of affiliate offer in that page. Or try and find a page that people are spending some time on that you could incorporate an offer on.

-Added 2 exercises in the exercise directory and linked them both to wikipedia. so far wikipedia has been my top referral so I outta get more backlinks to them.
-Ezine still hasn't approved my articles yet.

I don't know how you're tracking your visitors, but if you're not already doing so I'd recommend using something like Google Analytics or Statcounter to see where your visits are coming from, what keywords they used to find you, etc.

It's been a while since I've done SEO and driving organic traffic (and I was never really great at it to begin with) but the only real advice I can give is to keep working at it every day and start building more sites. It might be a while before you see those first conversions so stick with it. Good luck bro.

Just an FYI Techcrunch is no follow and since most people on there are looking for startup news instead of weight loss you probably won't get enough traffic from there to make it worth it and you won't get any link juice.

How so? If the google bot doesn't spider the link it doesn't offer any benefit aside from an actual person that sees the link and decides to follow it. I reread up on nofollow before responding in case my understanding was (more often than not) off. I pulled the following quote from a Matt Cutts response to a question concerning nofollow:

for Google, nofollow'ed links are dropped out of our link graph; we don't even use such links for discovery.

Thanks. Hostgator provides me with my tracking details and where the visitors are coming from and what keywords and keyphrases there coming off of.

Thanks, If I need you I will contact you but so far design has been fun for me and I have been doing it myself this entire time.

Day 41 Summary:

-Added blog to my post
-Adding 30 backlinks tonight and gonna make it part of a normal routine to add 30 a day.
-Ezine still hasn't approved my articles yet.

Don't need something from the site. Also you don't have to use the money for backlinks or anything like that. Just use some to work on your site more.
