Lemons884 Journal- Will this noob succeed?

you wont have time until you get to your command and break into a normal routine.

give yourself time, learn your shit, then do this on your nights and weekends..

The military will get redundant after about 3-4 months.

Trust me.

Yep I'm here to train and thats my main priority. I haven't done any affiliate marketing site building nothing since I have been here except I started hostgatoristhebest.com and don't know where I'm going with it lol.

Lemons, great job buddy. Found this post today, read through it and saw that you've kept at this thing on a daily basis before Airforce. Inspirational....especially your daily log b4 you left for the Airfoce.

Out in Colorado right? Any hazing still going on for the new cadets/plebes?

It sucks you'll only be able to work on this stuff only on the weekends so keep a pen & tiny notepad handy if you can. If you get any new ideas you can write it down right away. I'm sure that you're marching all the time and you've gotta stand at attention the whole time so you're probably brainstorming new ideas in your head.

Same thing goes for your hostgator site. From using their hosting for a while now you can write a lot more on your own experience & branch out into other sections of the site. Full articles, ideas, new pages, you'll have all this content written down and when the weekend hits then you can just type it out on the computer for a quick update saving you a lot of time.

Just letting you all know I am still alive.

Trackfieldevents is doing alright. Collecting revenue from adsense and getting good traffic.

hostgatoristhebest.com and 6packnow.net are going no where. Thinking maybe I could sell them but I doubt no one wants them. 6packnow.net is 1 PR.

WOW..so I just read all 8 pages.

First, amazing job man, you have documented a gold mine. I'm not just referring to the posts in itself, but rather the inspiration you have given me and others.

I am in final stages of manufacturing a nutritional supplement and setting up a word press website with a blog.

After seeing this, you have inspired me to document my journey through- researching a product to create- creating it- and finally marketing it. I will include things such as whether to create a llc or inc and in which state, how to get a toll free number, different marketing and conversion techniques and so on..

I think it will be helpful for all that considering creating their own product no matter what industry.

Love this journal idea.

Stay tuned.

Lemon, you're doing an awesome job. You're on the first page for the keyword "Track and field events", which according to Google's keyword tool got around 8k searches this month.

Amazing thread! I just finished reading through every page and on just about every one I learned at least one new thing. I've had a lot of, "Oh, that's how you do that!" moments with all these great posts.

Lemons, great job sticking with it this long. You're an inspiration to all new and old IMers. With your drive, persistence and the knowledge base of this forum, success will come. And it's in a niche you actually do and very much enjoy. So keep rockin it and more power to ya! :banana_sml:

P.S. Thank you for what you're doing for this country.

Is there any updates to this? Did the original poster start generating any income from the sites yet?

Total Adsense Revenue- $37.39

I have not made any sales. Only good site I got going is trackfieldevents which is getting me 100-200 visitors day. I'm just not able to monetize it. If I could do that I could be golden but I haven't done any of this in a long time and I really only got time on the weekends now.

Hey - just read the whole thing! Great thread for a n00b to read... won't be bothering Bidvetiser! :) I had a thought... you're getting 200+ visits a day for track and field events... The way I see it these visits fall in to two categories... people looking for info about track and field events - literally (discuss, javelin, etc..) AND people looking for track and field events (javelin event, london, 12/11/08) .. u know like real events that are happening.. In order to give some value to your visitors... what about info on actual track and field events... my bet is that the majority of organic traffic is looking for the second option... and lingers on your site for one to two pages before making a swift exit... I am a n00b myself and have tried to explain this the best i can. Anybody else see what i am getting at and care to elaborate.
Also... success stories page on abs site is screwing up for me also... run pages through http://www.browsershots.org to see how your pages look to users with different hardware/software to you.
HTH... Great thread.

Maybe consider having an opt in where people can subscribe to a newsletter about recent events. You could put in some affiliate links to the latest specials in track equipment and such.

You have proved that you can get visitors... (I liked the wikipedia method!). Now you need to think what are these people really looking for? Just 'tricking' people in to visiting your site isn't going to lead to conversions in the long run. Users need to be handled with care. Out of interest, do you have any info on what your users are actually doing on your site? e.g. how long do they stay?, how many pages do they view? and what page do they exit your site from? You will find alot of clues in that information.
:D

The majority of my visitors are just reading information and leaving. My store page doesn't get much visitors.

I haven't updated the sites in a few months. Maybe I will update a few things and start getting back into this on weekends.

Been busy lol military life is great though.

So I updated track and field a bit.

I put up a simple ad on the front page and links on the side and dumped the store. The store doesn't make any kind of profit at all.

I currently have $40.75 in my adsense; but right now I'm getting public service ads because I'm waiting on my pin.

I'm still using the shareasale network which I like very much.

Not gonna update 6packnow for a while. Gonna leave it there for now. I'm into fitness myself....I got a plan for that site in the future ;)

Read through the entire thread. Great work Lemons. I have recently started a blog in the diet fitness category but isn't as saturated or high traffic as the get a six pack category.

My keyword gets about 8000 searches per month.

I also post on the bb.com misc section. My name is skullcrusher45 there. Have you checked out the affiliate marketing thread there? I think you could offer a lot of guidance there (and get some reps too).

I'm on there. I give out advice everynow and then. I helped out OP a lot so hes pretty knowledgeable as well. That thread is mostly about PPC so I can only give advice on SEO and stuff like that. PPC is not my thing.
