We were over trolling at that online ecomXpo a few weeks back and made the mistake of rolling over for a sweet-talking young sales lady who was recruiting affiliates for LevelClick, her dogshit hole-in-the wall company in Austin. Just to be a nice guy I signed up.
I was worried from the start because they were showing about half the traffic I could see directly in the server logs, and they showed no conversions off a page that was focused like a laser for the ad they recommended.
This week, some conversions magically appeared showing they owed me money, and the next thing I discover is that they keep the money and cut me off as a TOS violator. Said I ran an exclusive that was supposed to be reserved for e-mail or search results. Kind of weird, since this wasn't shown in the creative or description when I picked it out.
This is what I deserve for trying to do a favor for a crap no-name outfit like LevelClick.
