Hello Everyone,
Looking for your opinions here...I have my Idea on the answer, but wanted to hear yours as well.
We are going back and forth on the issue of how Google treats incoming links to domains that change owners and I was curious as to what you all thought.
We're looking to set up a new site and to give it a bit of a boost buy a pre-existing domain.
What do you think? How will Google treat the incoming links once they see the domain ownership transfer:
1. No change
2. Remove all links and PR and start from scratch
3. Show the links/PR publicly, but deeply discount their value in the internal algorithm
4. Something else I missed
As an extreme example, let’s say we want to open a site around fruits. If we were to buy apple.com how would Google treat the incoming links that if found before the change of ownership?
