Sad about your brother. I had a surgery last year too. My friend brought her laptop so we could watch HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON together. I recommend that. I also recommend DAYLIGHT and THREE IDIOTS. :)

During deployments, we distracted ourselves with television shows. Sure, movies are great. But nothing takes your mind off of a shitty situation like a well-written story that goes on for hours with great characters.

Here are my favorite warchest recommendations.

Great drama with some jaw-dropping season finales (must-haves):
1. Sons of Anarchy
2. Dexter
3. Game of Thrones
4. Californication
5. Breaking Bad

Halloween is coming up. Get these:
1. The Walking Dead
2. American Horror Story
3. Supernatural

Some feel-good stories that are equally engrossing with great story:
1. Friday Night Lights
2. Entourage
3. Shameless

Epic, military storylines:
1. The Pacific
2. Generation Kill

That should more than fill up your tank. Watch those, and everything else on television will seem even more ridiculous than it already is.
