Looking for Web Developement firm

I have a fairly complicated and ambitious project that has just been green lighted by an investment group I am a part of.

It is an online community that requires many complicated levels of programming, web design, database, and other skills that we are not well suited for.

I am looking for a full service web development shop to help bring this idea onto the web.

Has anyone ever worked with such a firm? Any suggestions/reccomendations would be much appreciated.

• are you uk or us based?
• do you want to do certain parts on your own, or do you expect a turn-key solution?
• is a functional concept in place or would that be part of the deliverables from the 3rd party as result of a preliminary conceptual phase?
• do you want to do draw the technological/architectural blueprint or do you need an external chief evangelist?
• would you do the project management part yourself, or would you require a project manager as well?
• do you want to do a fixed do you prize project or time and material?
• do you want warranty or maintenance clauses for some years after finalization of the project ?
• do you want to own the source code and full rights to it?
• do you want to spent more or less than $1 mio. ?
• is the solution you arethinking about unique?
• can the application / conceptbe easily copied?

those would be the major questions i would need answers to, before being able to give a good advice
