I wanted to ask if there was an advantage in using
a Windows Based PC for Affiliate Marketing over a Mac on OS X ?

More specifically if there is any great affiliate software that
only runs on Windows ??

If you have a mac you can run Windows at the same time as OSX. I've had both macs and PCs and i can tell you that OS X is a dream come true, compared to windows.

oh yeah, that's true. You can run VMware.
But is there any tracking / affiliate software that is only Windows based ?

Yes the Microsoft ad center desktop application. But you can run it on VMware.

I use a MBP and I happen to own a PC thats faster than the MBP. I tried to switch back to the PC, and it sucked major donkey balls. Sorry, but Mac FTW. Don't have time to really give a detailed explanation of why its better, but I'm sure others can tell you why.

I don't understand why everyone likes MAC OS so much. I am currently on a mac right now, I bought one in January. I just couldn't be as efficient as I am on windows, so I just installed windows via bootcamp.

It's nice having both as options though, I use my MAC OS normally to video chat and stuff like that, but honestly someone please tell me how I can make myself feel better about buying a mac.

You just earned 3 gay points for using a mac.

Macs, windows, hardly a fucking difference.

What made you less efficient on a mac? The learning curve isn't very steep so I'm guessing it's not that.

Nah it's nothing about that, Microsoft Office seemed way different to me. It seems like everything is switched around in the Mac version of it.

In Windows I normally have like 10 windows open at once, with tabbed windows. In Mac side this was just annoying because I couldn't easily navigate between the windows.

Just small things like that really made me less efficient.

what kind of mac is it?

Affiliate Software? Not sure what you're talking about...

The only thing I run on Windows rather than Mac is Microsoft adCenter's thing - but I use VMWare Fusion on my Mac to run Windows. And I like Microsoft Office on Windows better than Mac.

Other than that, I like Mac better (easier/quicker to mount remote file systems on my server, using Terminal for SSH, video editing, etc...)

been a pc lover 4 years hell even am an accredited microsoft engineer (past life lol) but a month ago i bought a macbook air for when i'm on the road. loved it so much 2 days ago bought a 24inch imac.

absolutely amazing machines - i could never really understand why they were so much more expensive than pcs. now i know, you get what you pay for.

imac + parallels FTW (so far) gotta check other vm options.

the other thing is i used to have 2 monitors. i just found out you can zoom webpages in firefox or safari, so now no need for the extra monitor i'm just going to plug a big lcd tv in for video and stats!

Did you have Expose running? Going up to the left corner (for me) and seeing all the windows, or going up to the right corner if I want to clear everything and see the desktop is one reason I can just fly on my mac.

I'm not sure about the tab thing, I have about 25-30 tabs open in firefox right now and about 10 in dreamweaver along with photoshop, excel, safari, itunes, textedit, filezilla, colloquy, adwords editor, text wrangler, the hit list, and yahoo messenger up with no lag.
